FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dias Has Served as Field Hockey Coach and Official for Past 20 Years.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Following a widespread search, the Northeast-10 Conference has tabbed Ken Dias as its next Coordinator of Field Hockey Officials. Dias, who comes with a diverse background of coaching and umpiring experience, will handle assignments for all field hockey games throughout the league.

"We are thrilled to welcome Ken Dias to the role of Coordinator of Field Hockey Officials," said NE10 Commissioner Julie Ruppert. "He possesses a passion for the sport as evidenced by his successful officiating career. During our search process, Ken clearly articulated his respect for field hockey in the NE10 Conference. We have no doubt that in Ken, we have identified an individual whose dedication to preserving the integrity of the game is always at the forefront. He is committed to identifying, teaching and developing field hockey officials and to continue to raise the level of officiating in the NE10. We are excited for the future and are convinced this new relationship is a win for NE10 field hockey."

"I would like to thank Commissioner Julie Ruppert for the opportunity to serve in this role," said Dias. "I am excited to get started with my work for the Northeast-10 Conference and its member institutions."

Dias accepted a three-year term with the NE10 as its Coordinator of Field Hockey Officials -  replacing Barb Carreiro, who retired from the position in December. The NE10's search committee – comprised of field hockey head coaches and administrators in the Conference – selected Dias for this position after an in-depth interview process.

Dias has NE10 roots, serving as an official in the Conference – including his work in the 2021 NE10 Field Hockey Championship postseason. He has officiated field hockey games in all three NCAA divisions, as well as in USA Field Hockey.

In addition to officiating, Dias has coached field hockey for the past 20 years and has worked as an NCAA Umpire Evaluator for the past five. He has worked as an assignor in the New England Club League, Four Goals Field Hockey Tournament, Hockomock League and the Southern Massachusetts Board of Officials.

Dias has also served as an active official, umpire manager and trainer on multiple occasions for both the BIG EAST and Ivy League. He will focus on making umpire identification, development and education as his major areas of emphasis in his coordinator role with the NE10.
