Greyhounds Go 14-0 in NE10 Play To Earn Top Seed
MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Assumption Greyhounds claimed the Northeast-10 Regular Season Title and earned the top seed in the upcoming Field Hockey Championship for the first time in program history, as announced by the league on Saturday.
The Greyhounds (17-1, 14-0 NE10) wrapped up a perfect regular season with a victory over St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday afternoon and have won a program-record 17 straight contests under head coach Annie Lahey. They finished two games ahead of second seed Bentley (14-4, 12-2 NE10), who has won nine straight games and has its highest win total since 2009.
Stonehill and Saint Anselm concluded the regular season with matching 11-3 conference records, but the Skyhawks secured the No. 3 seed thanks to a head-to-head victory over the defending NE10 Champion Hawks earlier this season.
