Deleva Named Player of the Year as NE10 Releases Field Hockey All-Conference Honors

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Deleva Named Player of the Year While Assumption Claims Three of Five Major Awards

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Following the program's best regular season in school history, Assumption claimed Goalkeeper, Defensive Player and Coach of the Year honors, while Adelphi's Kaylee Deleva and Pace's Krista Dietz were named Player and Rookie of the Year, as announced the conference on Tuesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds and Adelphi each had a league-best three First-Team honorees and five total players earn All-Conference honors. Stonehill also had five players recognized, with three on the Second Team. To view the complete list of All-Conference and All-Rookie honorees, see below.

Deleva was named the NE10 Player of the Year after leading one of the most potent offenses in the nation. Adelphi was second in the country, averaging 4.6 goals per game and Deleva scored 17 times in her 17 games during the regular season, which was second in the NE10. She also dished off three assists to rank third in the NE10 with 37 points while leading Adelphi to a 10-4 conference mark. She is the first Adelphi player to win this award.

Jenna Graf was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year after anchoring a defense which ranks third in the nation and first in the NE10 with a 0.64 GAA.  The team has ten shutouts this season and Graf has also been a key element of the team's penalty corner unit, with nine assists and three goals.

Kylie Gargiulo was honored as the Goalkeeper of the Year after posting a 17-1 overall record with ten shutouts this season. She ranks second in the nation in save percentage at .863 and fourth nationally with a 0.64 GAA. The senior has only allowed more than one goal in a game twice this year.

Dietz was selected as the Rookie of the Year thanks in part to her deft scoring touch. The true freshman ended the regular season with a goal in each of her team's last ten games as the Setters went 9-1 over that span. She finished the regular season with a league-best 19 goals while also dishing off four assists.

Annie Lahey has been honored as the NE10 Coach of the Year after leading Assumption to a perfect 14-0 record in conference play. It's just the fifth time in the last 20 years a field hockey team has gone undefeated during regular season conference action. In conference play, her team ranked first in goals allowed (8) and second in goals scored (52).
