NE10 Field Hockey Report: Week 8

Week 8 - October 25, 2021

NE10 Player of the Week

Danielle Kempf, Adelphi
Senior | Midfield | Burnt Hills, N.Y.

Danielle produced three goals and three assists during Adelphi's 3-0 week of play. The graduate student had two goals against Adelphi's 6-1 win over Franklin Pierce on Saturday. Danielle average three points per contest and posted a .300 shot percentage.


NE10 Defensive Player of the Week

Jackie Brown, Adelphi
Senior | Defense | Port Jefferson, N.Y.

Jackie contributed to Adelphi's 3-0 week with a defensive save at St. Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday as the Panthers came away with the 1-0 victory. She tallied one goal and one assist during the Panthers' 6-1 win over Franklin Pierce on Saturday and helped shut out Southern Connecticut on Friday.


NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week

Kylie Gargiulo, Assumption
Senior | Goalkeeper | Madison, Conn.

Gargiulo made four saves in a 2-0 week for the Greyhounds and picked up two more shutouts on the season. She started the week with three stops in a 2-0 win at Southern Connecticut and made one save in a 5-0 win over Mercy on Saturday. She is ranked second in the conference in save percentage at .851.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Ally Schreck, Mercy 
Sophomore | Forward | Miller Place, N.Y.

Schreck had a career-high six points on two goals and two assists in the Mavericks win over Molloy on Wednesday to give the Mavericks their third conference win of the season. 


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Amanda Montiel, Adelphi (So, GK - Manorville, N.Y.)
Amanda recorded two shutouts during Adelphi's 3-0 week. She played the entirety of all three games, recording a .800 save percentage on the week with four saves. Amanda averaged 0.33 goals against over the three games.
 
Deirdre Burchill, Assumption (Sr., F - Braintree, Mass.)
Burchill led the Greyhounds to another 2-0 week with four points from two goals. She put up both goals in a 5-0 win over Mercy on the road on Saturday.
 
Madison Clark, Bentley (Jr., GK - Natick, Mass.)
In a 3-0 week for the 10th ranked Falcons, Clark allowed only one goal in 150 minutes, good for a 0.40 goals against average. She blanked Franklin Pierce, played the first half in a shutout of Molloy and made her only four saves of the week in a 3-1 win at New Haven.
 
Sam Simione, Bentley (Gr., MF-D - Cheshire, Conn.)
During a 3-0 week, Simione helped hold Franklin Pierce and Molloy to only one shot. She also had two defensive saves in s 3-1 victory at New Haven. 
 
Krista Dietz, Pace (Fr., M/F - Mahopac, N.Y.)
Dietz was once again Pace's top point producer during a 2-0 stretch last week. The freshman recorded three goals and an assist in decisive triumphs over Southern Connecticut State and Saint Michael's. Dietz has now tallied at least one goal in eight consecutive games. She ranks second in the NE10 this season with 15 total goals.
 
Grace Henderson, Pace (Sr., GK - Kingswood, South Australia)
Henderson picked up two more wins in net for the Setters last week. The senior keeper totaled nine saves, while allowing just one goal, in victories over SCSU and Saint Michael's. Henderson has now yielded one or fewer tallies in 13 of Pace's 16 contests this season.
 
Maggie Malloy, Saint Anselm (Jr, F - Canton, Mass.)
Malloy scored a goal in each game this past week for the sixth-ranked Hawks, putting home the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Southern New Hampshire on Monday before striking again at Molloy on Saturday.
 
Jenna Puleo, St. Michael's (Sr., F/M - Essex Junction, Vt.)
Senior Jenna Puleo (Essex Junction, Vt.) had two goals and an assist in a 5-3 loss at AIC on Wednesday before the Purple Knights were blanked at Pace, 5-0, on Saturday.

Jessie Hohenstein, St. Thomas Aquinas (Sr, GK - Stroudsburg, Pa.)
Jessie Hohenstein went 1-1 last week in two starts for St. Thomas Aquinas. Hohenstein posted a 1.00 goals against average and an .800 save percentage, stopping 8 of 10 total shots faced.

Raegan Hickey, Stonehill (So, F - Greenfield, Mass.)
Had a hand in three of the No. 8 Skyhawks four goals scored on the field, posting one goal and two assists in a 2-0 week. Assisted on Stonehill's equalizing goal in the fourth quarter of an eventual shootout win over New Haven on Wednesday, adding a shootout goal as well. Scored one second-half goal and assisted on the game winner with 1:35 remaining, to lead a 3-2 comeback win at American International on Saturday.
