NE10 Player of the Week

Davontrey Thomas, New Haven
Junior | Forward | Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

Thomas began his second season with the Chargers in impressive fashion, averaging 27 points across a pair of wins at the CSI Season Opening tournament with wins over Staten Island and D'Youville. The sophomore began the season with a career-high 31 points and hauled in 10 rebounds for his third career double double. He followed that up with 23 points in the win over D'Youville. Across the two games, Thomas shot 64.3 percent from the field, connecting on 18-of-28 attempts, including nine from outside the arc. He also added nine points at the free throw line, dished out six assists and picked off three steals.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Aaron Gray, Southern N.H.
Freshman | Guard/Forward | Providence, R.I.

Aaron Gray recorded 19.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 56.5 percent (13-23) from the floor, 50 percent (5-10) from beyond the arc, and 70 percent (7-10) from the line, during a 2-0 start to the season for SNHU. Gray posted 16 points (5-11 FG, 1-3 3-FG, 5-8 FT) and 12 boards for his first career double-double in Friday night's 67-58 win at Caldwell and then paced the Penmen with 22 points (8-12 FG, 4-7 3-FG, 2-2 FT) and five rebounds in a 74-61 triumph over Bloomfield on Saturday.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Omar El Sheikh, Assumption (Gr., F - Giza, Egypt)
Averaged a double-double of 14.0 points and 15.5 rebounds in a pair of season-opening wins for the Greyhounds. Put up 15 points and 14 rebounds against Georgian Court and then had 17 boards and 13 points in a win over Wilmington.

Colton Lawrence, Bentley (Gr., G - Myerstown, Pa.)
Playing for the first time in nearly 1,000 days, Lawrence had 16 points, six rebounds and one assist in 23 minutes during a 96-59 win over USciences. He made half of his 14 field goal attempts, including five of six inside the arc.

Isaiah Moore, Franklin Pierce (Jr., G - Temple Hills, Md.)
Averaged 28 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in a 1-1 week for the Ravens. In Saturday's season opener against Holy Family, went for a career-best 31 points and added nine rebounds, two steals and an assist. In Sunday's win over Jefferson, added 25 more points, to go with four rebounds, six assists and a pair of blocks.

Kevin Constant, Le Moyne (Fr, G - Lawrence, Mass.)
He scored 19 points, including the game-winning lay-up with 1.2 seconds remaining, in his first collegiate game, a 97-96 victory at Roberts Wesleyan. He was 7-of-11 shooting from the field and 5-of-5 from the foul line, while adding six rebounds, three steals and a pair of assists.

Christian Adams, Pace (Jr., F - New Haven, Conn.)
Adams helped the Setters to a pair of victories to open up their new season over the weekend. The Connecticut native put together averages of 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game in wins over Molloy College and Chestnut Hill College.

Patrick Gardner, St. Michael's (Sr., F - Merrick, N.Y.)
Senior Patrick Gardner (Merrick, N.Y.) averaged 15.5 points and 11.0 rebounds in 26.5 minutes per game during his first two NCAA contests over the weekend, helping Saint Michael's start 2-0. He added 4.5 offensive boards, 1.5 blocks, 1.0 assist and 1.0 steal per game while shooting 48.0% (12-for-25). A junior college transfer, Gardner totaled 16 points, 14 rebounds, five offensive boards, two blocks, one assist and one steal during a 75-65 win over Wilmington on Saturday before adding 15 points, eight rebounds, four offensive caroms, one assist, one steal and one block in a 65-55 win against Georgian Court on Sunday.

Shane O'Dell, Saint Rose (Fr., F - Schenectady, N.Y.)
Averaged 19.0 points on 53.6 percent shooting, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists throughout a 2-0 week. Had 17 points and four boards in a win versus D'Youville at the Tournament of Heroes hosted by College of Staten Island, and finished with 22 points and four boards in just 21 minutes in a victory against the host Dolphins.

Lyron Bennett, Southern Conn. St. (So, G - Boston, Mass.)
Bennett fueled the Owls' offense to a sweep over in the Bridgeport Tournament over Post and Goldey-Beacom by averaging 16 points, 6.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game while going 11-for-17 from the field and 4-for-9 from three-point range. In Southern's historic 20-point second half comeback against Post, Bennett scored 22 points on 8-for-11 shooting while dishing out six assists, with 17 of his 20 points coming in the second half. Bennett then filled up the box score against Goldey-Beacom, going 3-for-6 from the field and 2-for-5 from three-point range to score 10 points, record five rebounds, and hand out seven assists while turning the ball over just twice.

Andrew Sims, Stonehill (Sr, F - Mount Laurel, N.J.)
Averaged 20.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game over the Skyhawks first two contests of the season at the Caldwell Conference Challenge. Shot 53.8-percent (14-for-26) from the field and converted 13-of-15 (86.7%) free-throws for the weekend. Opened the season with 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting, converting 7-of-8 free-throws in Friday night's 78-69 win over Bloomfield, adding nine rebounds, an assist and steal. Followed with a team-high 14 points and seven rebounds against host Caldwell on Saturday, making 6-of-7 free-throws.
