Second-Straight Year That Silva Earns CoSIDA Academic All-America Honors.
MANSFIELD, Mass. - Adelphi senior guard Ronnie Silva was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team for the second-straight season, following his outstanding performance on the court and in the classroom during the 2021-22 season. Silva was the lone Northeast-10 Conference representative when CoSIDA made the announcement in mid-March.
Silva, a selection to the NE10 All-Conference First Team and D2CCA All-East Region First Team, ranked second among all NE10 players with 20.4 points per game this past season. He also ranked third in free throw percentage (89.4) and recorded 12 games with 20 or more points - including a career-high 42 points at Stonehill on Jan. 11. He was a four-time NE10 Player of the Week.
In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Silva was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team - a prerequisite for earning a place on the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team. He has a 3.66 cumulative GPA as a Sport Management major.
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2021-22 Division II Academic All-America® program.
Five of the 15 members of the Academic All-America® Division II men's basketball teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The five members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.98, with the entire men's team holding a collective average GPA of 3.83.
