Jim Ferrer '89 - Basketball - Bentley College
Ferrer spent only two years at Bentley College but in his short
time playing for the Falcons he solidified himself as one of the
best players to done the uniform.
In his first year with Bentley, Jim Ferrer finished second on the
team in scoring and dished out 215 assists, which was the 4th
highest total in school history at the time. He earned All
Northeast-10 Second-Team honors and set a school record by shooting
.500 from three-point land.
During his senior season, Ferrer helped lead Bentley to the
Northeast-10 Regular Season Title and an NCAA Regional appearance.
He concluded his senior campaign as the first player in NE-10
history to lead the conference in scoring and assists, averaging
21.6 points and 10 assists per game.
His success on the court led to a number of post-season honors that
included being named to the NABC Division II Second-Team All
American, Basketball Times First-Team All America and the
Northeast-10 Player of the Year along with being named to the All
Northeast-10 First-Team.
In addition, he was also named NABC All-Region, All ECAC Division
II and UPI Division II All-New England. Today, Ferrer still owns
Bentley records for career assist average, career minutes per game
and three point percentage; points, assists, assist average, field
goal attempts, field goals made in a season and assists in a game.
