NE-10 RELEASE

The 2005 Stonehill women’s lacrosse team achieved perfection in posting the lone undefeated season in program history on its way to the program’s second national championship in three years. During the year, Stonehill claimed its seventh consecutive NE-10 regular season title with a 10-0 mark.

In the NCAA Tournament, Stonehill posted a 16-10 victory over Adelphi in the semifinal round, before notching a 13-10 triumph over host West Chester in the National Championship Game. Tournament MVP Lauren Stone made ten saves in net and Colby Confer netted three goals, as Stonehill achieved perfection and a national championship.

Stone’s 4.45 goals-against average for the 2005 season would go down as an NCAA Division II record. The win avenged Stonehill's 11-6 setback to West Chester in the 2002 NCAA National Championship Game, and it marked a perfect season that ended with a 21-0 record.
