Ann McInerney '89 - Basketball & Softball - Assumption College
McInerney was a two-sport standout for her hometown college. She is
the women’s basketball career scoring leader (1,406 points)
and third-leading rebounder (1,076) in school history at Assumption
College. She is also a former Northeast-10 Player of the Year
(1989) and the first Greyhound to be named a First-Team All
Conference player.
McInerney came a long way in her career at Assumption. She average
just under four points per game as a first-year player, however she
recorded averages of 13.3, 15.4 and finally 20.2 points per game
over the next three years, while becoming a dominant rebounder in
the Northeast-10 averaging 11.0, 13.3 and 11.8 rebounds
respectively.
Not only did McInerney excel on the basketball court she was also a
standout softball player and was the starting catcher on
Assumption’s first conference championship team. She finished
with a career batting average of .308 with 128 hits and was named
all-conference twice.
