Corey Thomas, a track & field athlete at Stonehill College, leaped his way into NE10 history at the 2011 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Thomas won the national championship in the high jump by clearing 7-feet, 0.5 inches to secure the first NCAA title in program history. Thomas cleared each of his first four heights in the high jump on the first try, clinching a tiebreaker in the final round to take home gold. He was named East Region Field Athlete of the Year and earned All-American status in that same season. Thomas is the fifth NE10 men's track & field athlete inducted into the NE10 Hall of Fame and the second from Stonehill.
