Penmen Tally 12 First-Place Votes.
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Southern New Hampshire and Adelphi - the two programs who met in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship series last May - have been voted atop their respective divisions in the NE10 Baseball Coaches' Polls, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
It is the third-straight season that SNHU and Adelphi have been chosen to finish first in the Baseball Coaches' Polls. For the Penmen, it is their sixth-consecutive time being picked first in the Northeast Division by the league's head coaches.
SNHU recorded 90 points and 12 of 14 first-place votes to gain the top spot in the Northeast Division. The Penmen claimed their third NE10 and NCAA East Region titles in program history in 2021 – finishing the season with a 28-9 record. It was a doubleheader sweep over Adelphi that led SNHU to its first NE10 championship since 2016.
Franklin Pierce took second place in the Northeast Division by garnering 80 points and the remaining two first-place votes. Bentley placed third with 60 points.
Adelphi registered 85 points and nine of 14 first-place tallies, finishing first in the Southwest Division for the third-straight year. The Panthers won the Southwest Division regular season title last season and finished as finalist in the NE10 Baseball Championship.
Le Moyne finished narrowly behind Adelphi, recording 83 points and five first-place votes for second. New Haven was third with 64 points.
