NE10 Player of the Week

Michael Smith, Le Moyne
Graduate Student | Outfield | Montebello, N.Y.

Smith slashed .625/.700/1.375 by going 10-for-16 with three home runs, three doubles, 10 runs batted in, five runs scored and four walks in Le Moyne's 5-0 week. He opened the week going 2-for-3 with a double and a go-ahead three-run home run in a 5-3 victory over New Haven on Monday. He followed by going 4-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in the nightcap, a 12-2 win over the Chargers. He went 1-for-2 with two walks, two RBI and a run scored in an 8-2 win over AIC on Friday. He went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, two walks, three RBI and a run scored in a 16-5 victory over AIC on Saturday.


NE10 Pitcher of the Week

Jacob Marshall, Le Moyne
Junior | Pitcher | Baldwinsville, N.Y.

Marshall registered 11 strikeouts and allowed just three singles in going the distance on the mound in a 1-0 seven-inning victory over American International on Friday. He did not allow any of the three baserunners to reach second base.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Anthony Poole, Southern New Hampshire
Freshman | Outfield | So. Portland, Me. 

Poole made good on his first extended action of the season during a 5-0 week for the Penmen, putting together a slash line of .600/.647/1.067/1.714, as he went 9-for-15 with two home runs, six RBI and five runs scored. He busted out in a 12-3 win over St. Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday, turning in a 3-for-4 line with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored. He homered again in a 7-2 game-one win versus St. Michael's on Friday and then combined to go 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored in a 3-1 game-two victory Friday and a 14-2 triumph over the Purple Knights in Saturday's game one.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Jacob Dannenberg, Adelphi (Jr, P - Middle Island, N.Y.)
In his first-ever collegiate start, Dannenberg dazzled on the hill in leading the Panthers to a series victory against New Haven on Saturday. Dannenberg made a spot start and fired an astonishing 12 strikeouts in a 7-6 victory. He let up only. one earned run and three hits across seven amazing innings. His ERA for the day was a 1.29 and batting average against was .130. The 12 strikeouts were the most in a game for an Adelphi pitcher since All-American T.J. Santiago tallied 13 strikeouts in 2017.

Michael Draskin, Adelphi (Jr., IF - Huntington, N.Y.)
Made quite a bit of history in a weekend series against New Haven. In the four-game series alone, Draskin batted .563 with four homers and seven RBI. His slugging percentage stood at a mind-blowing 1.563. He became the first Adelphi player since 2018 to hit three homers in a single game. He also made the mark of being the first Adelphi player since 2007 to eclipse double-digit HR's in a single season. The last of his four homers tied the game, which the Panthers eventually went on to win 7-5 in come-from-behind fashion in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday against New Haven. 

Ian Battipaglia, Franklin Pierce (So., INF - Cheshire, Conn.)
Hit .480/.567/1.040 for a 1.607 OPS over 25 at-bats (12-for-25) in a 5-1 week for the Ravens. Hit five doubles and three home runs, scored nine times and drove in 13. Drew four walks against five strikeouts and stole one base in two attempts. In Wednesday's first game against Saint Rose, went 2-for-6 with a three-run homer and drove in four in a 20-10 win. In Friday's second game against Saint Anselm, hit 3-for-5 with a solo home run, scored twice and drove in two in a 21-2 win. Saved his best for the final game of the week, as he went 5-for-5, with three doubles and a two-run homer, scored three times and drove in four in an 11-7 win in Saturday's second game against Saint Anselm.  

Christian Aich, Pace (Jr., P - Sayreville, N.J.)
Aich twirled a gem during the Setters' series-opening win over Saint Rose on Friday. The right-hander went the the full nine innings, while allowing just one run and striking out five. Aich also walked just one batter and yielded just six total hits. 

Luke Jacobi, Pace (Sr., OF - Edison, N.J.)
Jacobi is currently in the midst of the best stretch of his career for Pace. The New Jersey native posted a team-high .529 batting average last week with six RBIs and five runs scored. He also walked three times and registered five stolen bases. Jacobi clinched Pace's second win over Saint Rose on Friday with a walk-off single that scored Matt Almonte.

Salvatore Pezzolla, Saint Anselm (Sr., IF - East Greenbush, N.Y.)
Pezzolla led the Hawks' offense with eight hits, closing the four-game series at regionally-ranked Franklin Pierce. Pezzolla batted .471 (8-17) with three home runs and eight runs batted in. In the win to open the series, Pezzolla launched a three-run home run before hitting a solo homer in game two. On Saturday, Pezzolla was six-for-nine at the plate with four runs driven in. Defensively, Pezzolla did not commit an error in 32 chances. 

Andrew Eng, Southern Conn. St. (Sr., OF - Ridgewood, N.J.)
Eng continues to produce for the Owls as he led Southern to a 3-1 mark in non-conference play against Bridgeport and Stonehill. Eng batted .500 (6-12) with a home run, six RBI and six runs scored while working three walks for a .667 on-base percentage while slugging .917. Against Bridgeport, Eng was 2-for-2 with two RBI. Against Stonehill in an 8-1 win, he was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and tw runs scored. He followed with a 3-for-6 day in a doubleheader split. Eng is currently riding a 15-game hitting streak in which he is hitting .444 (24-54) with seven home runs, 24 RBI and 21 runs scored. 

Alec Erskine, Southern Conn. St. (Fr., RHP - Killingworth, Conn.)
In a midweek start against Bridgeport, Erskine spun a complete-game shutout, holding the Purple Knights to six hits over nine innings while striking out four. In the third inning, Bridgeport strung together back-to-back hits before Erskine picked-off the lead runner to cool the Purple Knights' threat. He cruised the rest of the way, retiring 14 of the next 15 hitters before pitching out of a jam in the eighth and pitching a hitless ninth.

Nick Schwartz, Southern N.H. (So., C - Massapequa, N.Y.)
Schwartz tore the cover off the ball during a 5-0 week for the Penmen, as he went 10-for-15 (.667) at the plate with five extra-base hits, two home runs, five RBI, six runs scored, three walks and a trio of stolen bases, while slashing .737/1.267/2.004. Schwartz pounded out multiple hits in four of the five contests and collected at least one hit in each. Schwartz was 2-for-4 a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in a 12-3 triumph over St. Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday. He continued his hot streak against Saint Michael's in a four-game sweep, going 8-for-11 with a home run three RBI and four runs. 

Blaine Lidsky, Stonehill (Jr., C/OF - South Kingstown, R.I.)
Lidsky had another impressive week hitting a solid .438 (7-16), three home runs, and 12 RBIs. In his game against Assumption, he launched his first career grand slam and drove in a career-best six RBIs in a hard-fought contest. Later in the week on Saturday against regionally recognized Southern Connecticut, Lidsky had his first-ever multi-home run game while also collecting four RBIs in the game. Along with leading the team in home runs and RBIs, he ranks within the top three of both categories in the NE10 as he is tied for the lead in home runs (10) and is third with RBIs (39).
