NE10 Player of the Week

Mike DeMartino, Southern Connecticut
Graduate Student | Catcher | New Haven, Conn.

In a two-game season-opening series at Florida National, DeMartino was 5-for-8 with a home run, triple, two doubles six RBI and three runs scored. DeMartino posted an on-base percentage of .625 and a slugging percentage of 1.500 for a OPS of 2.125. In the Owls' 11-2 win in Game 1, DeMartino drove in three runs, powered by a two-run homer for his first of the season and 10th of his career.

NE10 Pitcher of the Week

Jacob Marshall, Le Moyne
Junior | Pitcher | Baldwinsville, N.Y.

Marshall struck out eight over seven scoreless innings, while allowing just three hits, in a 16-0 win over Mercy on Saturday.

NE10 Rookie of the Week

Connor Goggin, Southern Connecticut
Freshman | Outfield | Prospect, Conn.

Goggin singled in his first at-bat for Southern and finished the day 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. He followed with a 1-for-3 showing in the second game of SCSU's doubleheader against Florida National with a double and his first career RBI. For the weekend, he was 3-for-6 with two runs scored.

NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Tim Zupkus, Bentley (Jr., OF - Middlebury, Conn.) 
In a three-game series at Florida Tech, Zupkus put together a slash line of .375/.615/375. He was 3-for-8 with three RBI, one run scored and five walks. He had two hits and reached base four times in the middle game. 

Michael Smith, Le Moyne (Sr., IF/OF/P - Montebello, N.Y.)
Smith slashed .571/.667/.643 with four RBI and a double in Le Moyne's 1-3 week. He had two hits in each of the team's four games and drove in three runs and walked twice in a 16-0 win over Mercy on Saturday.

Salvatore Pezzolla, Saint Anselm (Sr, IF - East Greenbush, N.Y.)
Pezzolla played in all three games for the Hawks in their opening weekend. The graduate student posted three hits, one in each contest, across 10 at-bats to finish with a .300 batting average. He drove in one run worked one walk while recording one double. Pezzolla was 17-for-17 in the field, turning one double play.

Steve Phillips, Southern Conn. St. (Fr., LHP - Watertown, Conn.)
The Owls' Opening Day starter, Phillips got the win in his first start of the season after allowing two runs on four hits over five innings while striking out five in an 11-2 win against Florida National.
