NE10 Player of the Week
Dean DePreta, Pace
Senior | Infield | Stamford, Conn.
DePreta put together a monstrous stretch for Pace last week. The graduate student launched four home runs in five games while registering 10 total RBIs. He finished the week with a remarkable 2.250 slugging percentage. DePreta also scored eight runs while posting a .500 on-base percentage.
NE10 Pitcher of the Week
Josh Roberge, Southern New Hampshire
Senior | Pitcher | Chelmsford, Mass.
In the second game of Friday's doubleheader, Roberge beat Assumption 4-1. He allowed five hits and one run in his complete game effort, while walking one and striking out 14 to help lead SNHU to its fifth-consecutive NE10 Northeast Division title.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Johnny Catuosco, Adelphi
Freshman | Outfield | Commack, N.Y.
Catuosco has been taking over a consistent spot in the line-up and batted .389 with three RBI and three runs scored in four games. In an 8-6 come-from-behind win at Saint Rose on Saturday (May 7) that clinched the series, Catuosco went 3-for-5 with an RBI double and scored a run that pulled the Panthers within a run at the time in the top of the sixth.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Anthony Cipri, Adelphi (Jr., IF - Middle Village, N.Y.)
Led his team with a .471 average in helping the Panthers to a third-consecutive NE10 Southwest Division regular-season title. Across the five games he played, Cipri went 8-for-17 with a home run and three RBI and only struck out once. Broke open the scoring with a solo homer in the second of an 11-6 victory at Saint Rose (May 6). Drove in a pair of runs, including the game-winning RBI on a squeeze bunt, to procure a 8-6 come-from-behind win to clinch the series on Saturday.
Eddy Beauregard, Bentley (Jr., IF - Paxton, Mass., 34)
Beauregard, a Stonehill transfer, put up a .500/.588/1.143 slash line with seven RBI and six runs against his former team as Bentley took three of four against the Skyhawks. His seven hits included two homers, a two-run triple and a double. He was 3-for-4 with two homers and four RBI in a 9-3 win Thursday and his two-run triple helped the Falcons to a 5-2 win in Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader. In addition, he scored twice with two hits in a 7-5 victory in game two. Defensively, Beauregard handled 24 chances at first without an error.
Randy Flores, Franklin Pierce (So., INF - Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Hit .563/.600/.750 for a 1.350 OPS over 16 at-bats (9-for-16). Hit three doubles, scored five times and drove in eight runs. In the first game of Thursday's doubleheader at Saint Michael's, went 3-for-5 with a double, scored one run and drove in three. In the second game of Saturday's doubleheader at Saint Michael's, hit 4-for-6 with a double, scored twice, drove in three and stole a base.
Drew Carroll, Le Moyne (Sr., IF - Clifton Park, N.Y.)
Carroll slashed .667/.706/1.083 with a home run, a triple, five runs scored, three RBI, three walks and two stolen bases in Le Moyne's 3-1 week, which locked up the third seed in the NE10 Championship. He went 3-for-4 with a triple and a stolen base in a 3-2 win over Pace on Thursday. He knocked in the game-winning run in a 2-1 win over the Setters on Friday. He went 3-for-3 with a walk, a home run, four runs scored and two RBI in a 20-8 victory in the series-finale against Pace on Friday.
Max Parker, Le Moyne (So, P - Manlius, N.Y.)
Parker struck out eight over eight innings and earned the win in Le Moyne's 3-2 victory over Pace on Thursday.
Andrew Cain, New Haven (Sr, INF/P - Seaford, N.Y.)
Cain led the Chargers to a 2-1 record in their final series of the season against crosstown rival Southern Connecticut. He closed out the week hitting.615 with eight hits in 13 at-bats while driving in three runs. He finished all three games with multiple hits, including three in the opening game of the series and three in the final game of the series. He also finished with a stolen base and added eight putouts.
Kyle Maurice, Saint Anselm (Sr., 1B - Exeter, N.H.)
Maurice hit three home runs in game two of the Hawks regular season doubleheader finale against American International. He drove in eight runs, all coming in the second game. Maurice opened the game with a solo home run in the second inning before adding a two-run homer in the fourth and a grand slam in the eighth. He batted .500 in the doubleheader with a 1.400 slugging percentage.
Randall Alejo, Saint Rose (So., P - Patchogue, N.Y.)
Alejo fanned eight, while walking just one, over the distance to pick up the shutout victory over NE10 Southwest Division leader Adelphi on Saturday. He faced just four batters above the minimum and allowed only the game?s leadoff batter to get into scoring position throughout the 7.0 inning contest.
Jack McDonald, Saint Rose (Jr., 1B - Meriden, Conn.)
McDonald batted .571 (8-for-14) with a .625 on-base percentage and a .929 slugging percentage throughout this past weekend's four-game series versus Southwest Division leader Adelphi. He also drove in six runs and homered.
Jonathan Rice, Stonehill (Sr, P - Hopedale, Mass.)
In his lone start on the weekend, Rice allowed just two hits and fanned seven in Stonehill's season finale win on Sunday. It marked the fourth time this season he has collected five or more strikeouts.
