NE10 Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Stephen Harris, Franklin Pierce
Junior | Billerica, Mass.

At the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic, Harris broke the Northeast-10 200m record with a first place 21.11s finish. The speedy time is the current best in all of Division II.


NE10 Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Cameron Belton, Southern Connecticut State
Senior | Baltic, Conn.

At the UMass Lowell Riverhawk Invitational, Belton finished 5th in the Shot Put with a season-best 17.11m. Belton's throw is the 16th best in the country this season, and also the top mark among NE10 competitors to date. Belton's mark beat seven NCAA Division I opponents.


NE10 Men's Track Rookie of the Week

Sam Sandler, Southern Connecticut State
Freshman | West Hartford, Conn.

At the UMass Lowell Riverhawk Invitational, Sandler finished fourth out of 91 runners in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 48.33, which is the seventh best time in the country and the top NE10 time of the year. Sandler also ran the anchor of the Owls' 4x400 Relay that finished third out of 28 teams with a time of 3:13.66, which is also the top time in the NE10 and the seventh best time in the country.


NE10 Men's Field Rookie of the Week

Jonah Aquiar, New Haven
Freshman l Troy, N.Y.

Aquiar topped 14 meters for the first time in college in the shot put as he posted a second place finish at the Wesleyan Invitational, one of two top-5 finishes at the meet. His toss of 14.07 meters (46'2") came on his fifth attempt and out-distanced and of his previous tosses by nearly 3/4 of a meter. In addition, he posted a fourth place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 13.48m (44'2.75").


NE10 Men's Relay of the Week

4x400 Relay, Southern Connecticut State
At the John Thomas Terrier Classic, the 4x400 Relay team of Max Musial, Nolan Freeman, Hunter Dale, Sam Sandler finished third out of 28 teams with a time of 3:13.66, which stands the Owls' top time of the season. The Owls' time is the fifth best in the country and the top NE10 time this season.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Avery Lemieux, Assumption (Jr., Natick, Mass.)
Lemieux won the Men's Weight Throw at the USM Husky Invitational on Saturday afternoon. His toss of 14.07m (46' 2") bested the field of 19 by 1.42m (4' 8").

Andre Francis, Adelphi (Jr., Ozone Park, N.Y.)
Francis was responsible for a personal best launch of 16.90m in the weight throw to place 14th in a field of 31 Division I competitors at the Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge. That distance is the second best in the NE10 and third in the East Region.

Matthew Wenz, Adelphi (Jr., Rego Park, N.Y.)
Wenz was in fourth place after the first day of heptathlon action, and ultimately finished in sixth overall with a score of 4,193 at the Columbia Challenge. He placed fourth in the shotput and the high jump and nearly matched his 60 time (7.41) from earlier in the season. His total score is fourth best in the NE10 this season and fifth among East Region competition.

Jordany Dely, New Haven (Sr. Spring Valley, N.Y.)
Dely led of his weekend at the Riverhawk Invitational with a season-low time in the 60m hurdles, finishing fifth overall with his mark of 8.16 which is an NCAA provisional qualifying time and also shaving .02 off his own school record in the event. Additionally, Dely was part of the 4x400-meter relay team which finished 10th overall.

Declan McGrellis, New Haven (So., Frederica, Md.)
The Chargers pole vault specialist, McGrellis paced the field at Saturday's Wesleyan Cardinal Invitational as he took home medalist honors topping a height of 3.95 meters (12'11.5") for a new personal best in the event.

Jaidin Haynes, Saint Anselm (So., Sayreville, N.J.)
Haynes collected 27th place in the long jump event on Saturday at the Riverhawk Invitational for his season debut. His 6.36-meter jump marks a new team-best in the event and currently ranks him 13th overall out of Northeast-10 Conference opponents.

Jon Volpe, Southern Connecticut State (Jr., Naugatuck, Conn.)
At the John Thomas Terrier Classic, Owls standout Volpe broke the program record in the indoor mile with a time of 4:03.16. Volpe's time stands as the 5th best in the country this season as well as the top NE10 time this season. He followed with an 11th place finish, out of 77, at the Riverhawk Invitational in the 800 with a time of 1:55.67.
