NE10 Men's Swimmer of the Week

Eric Romero Gomez, Saint Rose
Junior | Barcelona, Spain

Romero Gomez claimed second place in the 100 freestyle with a 50.34 in Saturday's dual-meet at Bentley. He displayed his strong backstroke in Sunday's tri-meet, finishing second in both the 100 (55.93) and 200 (2:05.41), with the latter representing the fastest time in the NE10 this season.


NE10 Women's Swimmer of the Week

Colleen Quaglia, Saint Rose
Graduate Student | East Greenbush, N.Y.

In Saturday's dual meeting against Bentley, Quaglia earned a first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.64) and clocked a 10:47.59 in the 1000 freestyle, the best time posted by any swimmer in the NE10 this season in the long distance event. On Sunday, she took three more individual victories in a tri-meet with RPI and SUNY Oneonta. Quaglia won the 200 butterfly (2:14.18),500 free (5:17.60), and 200 Individual Medley (2:15.52), with the latter two performances marking the top times in the conference in each respective event.


NE10 Men's Diver of the Week

Justine Byrne, Le Moyne
Senior | Savannah, N.Y.

He won both of the diving events in Le Moyne's 201-65 win over Roberts Wesleyan College on Saturday afternoon. He posted 254.45 points to win the first one-meter diving event and then scored 171.85 points to win the second one-meter diving event.


NE10 Women's Diver of the Week

Hilla Almog, Bentley
Freshman | Wayland, Mass.

Almog took first in both one-meter diving competitions against Saint Rose with a combined point total of 479.95. She amassed 194.25 points in the five voluntary dives and 285.70 in the six optional.


NE10 Men's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week

Andrew Matjucha, Bentley
Freshman | Randolph, N.J.

Against Saint Rose, Matjucha posted the conference?s fastest 500 yard freestyle time of the season by more than eight seconds, 4:56.65, and also finished first in the 200 free (1:48.72). He was also part of a 200 medley relay team that was fourth in 1:46.32.


NE10 Women's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week

Mia Stroub, Saint Rose
Freshman | Babylon, N.Y.

Stroub took first in the 100 backstroke in 1:03.34 and narrowly missed the win in the 100 butterfly, touching 0.19 behind to earn second place at Bentley on Saturday. She closed the weekend second place finishes in the 100 fly (1:00.44) and 200 backstroke (2:12.03) in Sunday's tri-meet against SUNY Oneonta and host RPI. Her 100 fly time on Sunday was the second-fastest time in the NE10 this season.


NE10 Men's Relay of the Week

400 Yard Freestyle Relay, Bentley

Bentley closed out a win over Saint Rose by taking first in the 400 yard free relay with a conference season-best time of 3:23.42. Senior Mark Zoda (Nashua, N.H.) anchored with the quartet also including sophomore Andrew Marcus (Drescher, Pa.) and freshmen Marshall Wilson (Beverly Hills, Fla.) and Tyler Marzano (Hillsdale, N.J.).


NE10 Women's Relay of the Week

400 Yard Freestyle Relay, Bentley

Bentley took first in the 400 free relay against Saint Rose with senior Lucy Slowe (Millis, Mass.), freshman Jordan Nuzback (Fairview, Pa.) and juniors Dariana Gonzales (Stamford, Conn.) and Kate Galvin (Suffern, N.Y.) combining for a 3:42.47. That bettered the Northeast-10 season best by 5.6 seconds.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Erin Tague, Assumtion (Jr. - Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.)
Tague won the 200 freestyle over the weekend in 1:58.70 and then took third in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:34.91. 

Owen Busser, Bentley (Sr. - Chelmsford, Mass.)
Against Saint Rose, Busser totaled 379.45 points in the two one-meter diving competitions. He was second in the five voluntary dive with a 169.75 and first in the six optional dives (209.70).

Zach Papsco, Bentley (Sr. - Northport, N.Y.)
During a win against Saint Rose, Papsco posted a Northeast-10 season-best in the 100 yard breaststroke (59.58) and was part of Bentley?s winning 200 medley relay (1:40.31). In addition, he placed second in the 200 freestyle with a 1:49.55.

Lucy Slowe, Bentley (Sr. - Millis, Mass.)
In a win over Saint Rose, Slowe was the first to the wall in the 500 freestyle, finishing in 5:26.10, and was also part of two first-place relays. She helped Bentley post a 1:54.01 in the 200 medley and 3:42.47 in the 500 free.

Annamarie Goosley, Le Moyne (Jr. - Harpursville, N.Y.)
She won both of the diving events in Le Moyne's 205-64 win over Roberts Wesleyan College on Saturday afternoon. She won the first one-meter diving event with 195.85 points and then posted 126.20 points to win the second.

Ryan McMahon, Le Moyne (R-Fr. - Syracuse, N.Y.)
He won three individual events and teamed on a relay victory to lead the Dolphins to a 201-65 win over Roberts Wesleyan College on Saturday afternoon. He was victorious in the 100-yard breaststroke by over five seconds with a season-best time of 1:03.44. He later won the 200-yard breaststroke by over 10 seconds with a time of 2:24.51. He wrapped up his day by winning the 500-yard freestyle by almost 29 seconds with a season-best time of 5:07.34. He swam the breaststroke leg for the victorious 200-yard medley relay, which finished in 1:45.16.

Veronika Nelson, Le Moyne College (R-Fr. - Vernon Center, N.Y.)
She recorded three individual wins to lead the Dolphins to a 205-64 victory over Roberts Wesleyan College on Saturday afternoon. She earned the first of her three wins by touching the wall first in the 100-yard breaststroke by 0.84 seconds with a time of 1:16.26. She completed the sweep with a time of 2:47.38 to win the 200-yard breaststroke by over five seconds. She wrapped up her afternoon with a time of 5:02.04 to win the 400-yard IM by over six seconds.
