SCSU Women and Bentley Men on Top After Day Three of NE10 Championships

Falcons & Owls Leading Again Follow Day 3 of Championships


NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Bentley and Southern Connecticut men went back-and-forth again on Saturday night, as the Falcons finished the evening ahead by just 11.5 points, while the Owl women hold a commanding leading after three days of competition in the 2022 Swimming & Diving Championships at Hutchinson Natatorium, hosted by Southern Connecticut. 

SCSU's Andrew Buehler opened the evening with a victory in the 3-meter diving competition thanks to a score of 509.70. Sean Rorke of Pace took another silver with his score of 456.50 while Patrick Dwyer was third with 44.45.

Colleen Quaglia took gold in the 400 IM with a 4:29.04, followed by a pair of Owls in Lindsay McCawley and Maddie Dean. On the men's side, McAllister Milne finished in 3:58.12 to claim the gold, while Bentley's Anthony Vizental and Michael Motisi rounded out the podium.

Justice Glasgow took home first in the women's 100 yard free for SCSU in 55.99 while Jason Rosen gave Adelphi its first gold of the weekend with a 50.03 on the men's side. 

Bentley's Kate Galvin claimed her second individual gold in the 200 free with a 1:53.50 while the Owls' Franklin Kuhn edged out Mark Zoda by just 0.17 seconds with his time of 1:40.68.

Jamie Hepburn gave Stonehill its first NE10 Champion in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.33. Chandler Tucker, meanwhile, claimed his second individual goal with a time of 55.49, the second fastest time in NE10 history.

Mackenzie Day of Assumption earned the NE10 Title in the 100 backstroke with her time of 58.37. Eric Romero Gomez claimed the 100 backstroke in 52.84 for Saint Rose. 

SCSU won the 200 yard medley relay in 1:47.41 while the Bentley men earned a victory with their time of 1:33.26.
