NE10 Men's Swimmer of the Week

Mark Zoda, Bentley
Senior | Nashua, N.H.

Zoda broke two of his own school records during the WPI Gompei Invitational, swimming the 100 freestyle in 45.72 to finish second and helping the Falcons' 200 medley relay to a time of 1:34.06 for fifth place and a record by 0.28 seconds. He was also second in the 200 free (1:43.03) and fifth in the 50 free (21.06), as well as part of relays that were second (mixed 400 free, 3:21.92), fourth (200 free, 1:25.30; 400 free, 3:08.70, fifth (mixed 200 free, 1:31.51) and seventh (800 free, 7:09.60; 400 medley, 3:30.68). All his freestyle times bettered the NE10 season bests entering the weekend.


NE10 Women's Swimmer of the Week

Colleen Quaglia, Saint Rose
Graduate Student | East Greenbush, N.Y.

This weekend at the Bomber Invitational, Quaglia topped the NCAA Division II Championship provisional qualifying standards in the 500 freestyle (5:03.85) and 400 IM (4:29.88), in addition to victories in the 200 butterfly (2:06.07) as well as the 100 IM (59.10). She wrapped the three day competition with the fastest times in the NE10 this season in all four respective individual events.


NE10 Men's Diver of the Week

Justin Byrne, Le Moyne
Freshman | Syracuse, N.Y.

He placed in the top 10 in both diving events at the 11-team Ithaca College Bomber Invitational this weekend. He tallied 359.85 points in the three-meter diving event to place 10th. He then placed eighth off the one-meter diving board with 410.15 points.


NE10 Women's Diver of the Week

Mary Huminski, Bentley
Junior | Madison, Conn.

Huminski took first in both diving events during the WPI Gompei Invitational. She won the one-meter by 25 points with a 419.90 and the three-meter by 50.10 with a 411.40. All met the NCAA Division II qualifying standards.


NE10 Men's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week

Cooper Rivers, Adelphi 
Freshman | Lake Elsinshore, Calif.

Cooper Rivers scored 52 points at the ECAC Winter Championships, finishing as the top scoring male swimmer for the Panthers.He earned a lifetime best time in the 100 free (46.84) which is only .43 away from a 1993 Adelphi record. His 200 freestyle race was a season best by three seconds, swimming a 1:43.23. Prior to his 200 event, he raced in the 400 IM where he went a 4:11.69, (a six-second drop from USMMA event) and stands as the top time in the conference. Additionally, he helped the Panthers to an 8th place finish in the 200 freestyle relay, with the fastest leg at 21.53.


NE10 Women's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week

Jami Hepburn, Stonehill
Freshman | Nassau, Bahamas

Posted two top breaststroke times in the NE10 this season to highlight the Skyhawks first championship meet in program history at the ECAC Winter Championships in New York this weekend. Is the first Skyhawks to earn a B-cut final and led all non-Division I entries in the 100-yard breaststroke on Saturday, winning the B-final in 1:06.29 (9th overall out of 46 entries) after qualifying 11th in the morning with her school-record time of 1:06.18, which ranks first in the NE10 this season. She followed that up with another NE10-best time of 2:28.41 to finish third in the 200-yard breaststroke C-final (19th overall out of 36) after posting a prelims time of 2:29.33, finishing second among non-Division I entries. Hepburn also competed in the 50-yard freestyle (school-record 26.08 - 61st of 107) and 100-yard freestyle (58.14 - 60th). Hepburn was also part of Stonehill's 200-yard freestyle relay that finished 13th (first among non-Division I's) in 1:42.10, 200-yard medley relay that took 12th (first among non-Division I's) in 1:50.74, 400-yard medley relay that finished 11th (first among non-Division I's) in 4:01.25 and 400-yard freestyle B-relay that was 15th (2nd among non-D!'s behind the Skyhawks A) in 3:47.03.


NE10 Men's Relay of the Week

200 Medley Relay, Bentley

During the WPI Gompei Invitational, Bentley broke the school record in the 200 medley relay by 0.28 seconds with a 1:34.06. Senior Oscar Chang (Dix Hills, N.Y.) led off and was followed by senior Zach Papsco (Northport, N.Y.), junior Anthony Vizental (Concord, Calif.) and senior Mark Zoda (Nashua, N.H.).


NE10 Women's Relay of the Week

400 Yard Medley Relay, Bentley

Bentley finished third in the 400 medley relay during the WPI Gompei Invitational with the time of 3:58.78 putting the Falcons just 1.58 seconds back of first-place Bryant. Senior Lucy Slowe (Millis, Mass.) led off and was followed by sophomore Emily Blatt (Westford, Mass.), freshman Jordan Nuzback (Fairview, Pa.) and junior Kate Galvin (Suffern, N.Y.). The time was about 15 seconds faster than the NE10 season-best at the start of the weekend.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Skyler Nenadich, Adelphi (Fr. - Bayside, N.Y.)
Skyler Nenadich walked away with two trophies after competing at the ECAC winter championships this weekend, placing first in the one-meter event with a score of 240.05 and 249.95 in the three-meter event. She entered the three-meter finals in third place after scoring 210.50 (just six points out of first), and finished twenty points higher than the next competitor after her six-dive session.

Jason Rosen, Adelphi (Gr. - Plainview, N.Y. )
Jason Rosen scored 27 points for Adelphi at the ECAC Winter Championships, to secure his spot as the second highest men's scorer. He swam 50.95 in the 100 butterfly race and continues to hold the top spot in the NE10 conference. Rosen was also the second leg in the men's 200 freestyle relay that placed eighth overall in the finals.

Owen Busser, Bentley (Sr. - Chelmsford, Mass.)
During the Gompei Invitational at WPI, Busser scored 328.90 points off the one-meter board and 246.75 off the three-meter. That placed him eighth in the one-meter and 12th in the three-meter.

Kate Galvin, Bentley (Jr. - Suffern, N.Y.)
In the Gompei Invitational at WPI, Galvin broke two of her own school records. She swam the 50 yard freestyle in 24.08, an improvement of 0.07 seconds, and the 100 free in 52.17, shaving 0.02 seconds off the existing mark. During the three-day meet, she was second in the 100 free, fourth in the 50 free, sixth in the 50 fly (26.70) and eighth in the 100 fly (59.90). All four of those times bettered the NE10 season best times entering the weekend. In the relays, she helped Bentley place second in the mixed 400 free (3:21.92), third in the 400 medley (3:58.78), fourth in the 800 free (8:00.49), 400 free (3:36.76) and 200 free (1:38.77), fifth in the 200 medley (1:49.03) and the mixed 200 free (1:31.51), and 11th in the mixed 400 medley (3:53.21).

400 Yard Freestyle Relay, Le Moyne 
The quartet of Charles Morris, Belal Hamad, Alex Turczyn and Logan Bronecki registered the fastest time in the NE10 this year in the 400-yard freestyle relay at the Bombers Invitational with a time of 3:14.01.

400 Yard Medley Relay, Le Moyne 
The quartet of Grace Thomas, Mikael Ann Melfi, Veronika Nelson and Caitlyn Longway registered the second fastest time in the NE10 this year in the 400-yard medley relay at the Bombers Invitational with a time of 4:06.42.

Charles Morris, Le Moyne (Jr. - East Aurora, N.Y.)
He led the Dolphins with 80 individual points at the 11-team Ithaca College Bomber Invitational this weekend. He registered an NE10 season-best time of 21.21 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle to place fifth. He placed 19th in the 100-yard butterfly in 53.59 seconds, his best time of the year. He recorded a seventh-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke in an NE10 season-best 58.64 seconds. He finished in fourth place in the 100-yard IM in a season-best 53.54 seconds. He was also on a pair of relay teams which posted the fastest times in the NE10 this year.

Grace Thomas, Le Moyne (R-Fr. - Clifton Park, N.Y.)
She registered 53 individual points to lead the Dolphins at the 11-team Ithaca College Bomber Invitational this weekend. She posted an NE10 season-best time of 59.16 seconds to place fifth in the 100-yard backstroke. On Sunday morning, she placed second in the 200-yard backstroke in a season-best time of 2:08.82, the second-fastest in the NE10 this year. She also led off one relay which posted the fastest time in the NE10 this year and one which posted the second-fastest time.

Patrick Dwyer, Pace (Sr. - Tomkins Cove, N.Y.)
Dwyer led the way for the Setters during a dual meet at Rider University on Saturday. The senior placed third in both events with scores of 247.50 (one-meter) and 246.00 (three-meter).

Eric Romero Gomez, Saint Rose (Jr. - Barcelona, Spain)
Gomez touched in 53.82 in the 100 backstroke and clocked a 1:59.89 in the 200 back at this weekend's Bomber Invitational, with the two performances eclipsing the quickest times posted in the conference for both events.

200 Yard Medley Relay, Stonehill
Stonehill's 200-yard medley relay team placed 12th out of 22 entries in a school-record 1:50.74 to earn 30 team points at the 2021 ECAC Winter Championships in New York over the weekend. The Skyhawks led the eight non-Division I entries in the event. Sophomore Sydney Stockwell (Hopkinton, N.H.) swam the lead backstroke leg in 27.92-seconds, followed by freshman Jami Hepburn (Nassau, Bahamas) with the breaststroke leg in 30.52-seconds, sophomore Katie Keating (East Lyme, Conn.) on the butterfly leg in 27.04-seconds and then freshman Sofiya Gobora (Sarasota, Fla.) on the freestyle anchor leg in 25.45-seconds.
