NE10 Swimming & Diving Report: Week 12

NE10 Men's Swimmer of the Week

McAllister Milne, Southern Connecticut
Freshman | Glastonbury, Conn.

Swimming exhibition, with official scorers as the women's swimming & diving team was competing against Central Connecticut, McAlister Milne posted a 4:07.20 in the 400 Individual Medley, good for the fastest time of the season in the NE10, and also a 1:44.41 in the 200 Freestyle for the fifth fastest time in the event in the conference this year.


NE10 Women's Swimmer of the Week

Colleen Quaglia, Saint Rose
Graduate Student | East Greenbush, N.Y.

Quaglia took first in the 100 butterfly (59.44) and the 100 breaststroke (1:09.78) in Sunday's dual-meet against Saint Michael's. She also swam the opening league of the winning 400 medley relay team that touched in 4:12.68.


NE10 Men's Diver of the Week

Will Settle, Saint Michael's
Sophomore | Wallingford, Conn.

Freshman Will Settle won both the one- (196.50) and three-meter (189.50) diving competitions at Saint Rose on Sunday, helping the Purple Knights down the Golden Knights, 132-88, for the first time since December 2001.


NE10 Women's Diver of the Week

Nicholle Denault, Southern Connecticut
Sophomore | West Hartford, Conn.

Against Central Connecticut, Nicholle Denault posted a 205.73 in the 1 Meter Diving event and a 179.55 in the 3 Meter Diving.


NE10 Men's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week

NE10 Women's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week

Natalie Weier, Southern Connecticut
Freshman | White Bear Lake, Minn.

Against CCSU, Natalie Weier posted an 18:52.13 in the 1650 Freestyle event, good for the 4th fastest time in the NE10 this season.


NE10 Men's Relay of the Week

400 Medley Relay, Saint Rose
Anthonie Brito, Aldemar Alikavazovic, James Henriques, and Eric Romero Gomez claimed a Golden Knight win in the 400 medley relay, touching in 3:38.28 in Sunday's dual-meet with Saint Michael's.


NE10 Women's Relay of the Week

400 Medley Relay, Saint Rose
The team of Colleen Quaglia, Emily Miles, Brenna Hayes, and Laura Borrelli took the 400 medley relay in 4:12.68 on Sunday versus Saint Michael's.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Emily Ashby, Saint Rose (Fr.  - Lake Grove, N.Y.)
Ashby earned first place in both the 1-meter (199.35) and 3-meter 186.70) diving events in Sunday's dual-meet with Saint Michael's.

Sean McGurn, Saint Michael's (Sr. - Braintree, Mass.)
Senior Sean McGurn won a pair of events while nabbing a runner-up finish across his three events on Sunday during the Purple Knights' 132-88 win at Saint Rose, their first in the series since December 2001. McGurn won the 200 individual medley (2:09.60) and 500 freestyle (5:14.78) while aiding a second-place 200 freestyle relay quartet (1:32.64). 

Marisa Butzirus, Saint Michael's (Jr. - Coronado, Calif.)
Junior Marisa Butzirus won once and posted a pair of second-place showings at Saint Rose on Sunday. Butzirus claimed the 200 individual medley (2:29.38), edging the runner-up by 0.56 seconds, while taking second in the 100 backstroke (1:09.33) and leading off for the second-place 400 medley relay (4:34.55).

Maddie Dean, Southern Connecticut  (Jr. - Lawrence, Ks.)
In the 400 Individual Medley against Central Connecticut, Dean swam a 4:47.66 for the fourth-fastest time in the NE10 this season while finishing second in the event.
