NE10 Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Clement Paillon, American Int'l
So. | Mid-Distance | Brussieu, France

Paillon hit a PQ mark and set a new standard for the NE10 on the season in winning the 800-meter run at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Saturday, taking the race in 1:50.29. His time is also the 9th fastest in NCAA Division II this year.


NE10 Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Turner Kelly, Southern Conn.
Graduate Student | Throws | Amityville, N.Y.

Kelly finished in first place in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 17.89 meters at the UConn Dog Fight, beating out Division I athletes from University of Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Albany. It was also the second farthest shot put throw in program history, as he surpassed his throw last week of 17.80 meters. Kelly finished in sixth place in the discus throw with a mark of 46.03 meters as well. At the James Barber Tri-Meet, Kelly finished in second place in the hammer throw with a mark of 51.22 meters.


NE10 Men's Track Rookie of the Week

Yvan Lopes Ribeiro, American Int'l
Fr. | Hurdles/Jumps | Springfield, Mass.

Lopez Ribeiro won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.82 seconds and the long jump with a distance of 7.03 meters at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Saturday. His time in the 110-meter hurdles is the fastest in the NE10 to this point in the season and he is second among NE10 competitors in the long jump.


NE10 Men's Field Rookie of the Week

Jordan Davis, Southern Conn.
Freshman | Throws | Wallingford, Conn.

Davis finished in first place in the javelin throw with a mark of 64.91 meters, the fifth longest throw in program history, at the UConn Dog Fight. Davis beat out Division I athletes from University of Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Albany. The throw is his second best of the year and nearly six meter farther than anyone else in the NE10.


NE10 Men's Relay of the Week

Southern Conn. - 4x400 Relay

Competing at UConn, SCSU's 4x400 Relay earned a victory and took down multiple Division I programs with its provisional qualifying time of 3:13.45. The quartet of Sachin Manning, Milan Spisak, Nigel Green and Osaretin Osagie have the best time in the conference by over 14 seconds. 


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll 

Brendan Carter, Assumption (Sr. - North Reading, Mass.)
Carter won the 1500-meter run in a time of 4:03.88 at the Merrimack Invitational. He also recorded the seventh fastest time in the NE10 in the 800 meters with a time of 1:59.83.

Joseph Santos, Assumption (Sr. - Warwick, R.I.)
Earned a victory in the long jump with a distance of 6.66 meters. Santos followed it up by taking second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.21 seconds.

Brett Deri, New Haven (Jr. - Newtown, Conn.)
In two meets over the weekend, Deri took home three top-four finishes, including medal honors in the 400-meter hurdles at the James Barber Invitational on Sunday. Deri's time in the hurdles of 56.70 was the best of the weekend for the junior sprinter and is 12 hundredths of a second off his personal best. Less than 24 hours prior, Deri closed out the Coast Guard Tri-Meet with a runner-up finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.51 and finished the 400-meter dash in a time of 52.28, good for fourth place overall.

Jonathan Pierre, New Haven (Gr. - Braintree, Mass.)
Three first place finishes highlighted back-to-back meets for the Chargers thrower. Pierre open up his weekend with medal honors in two events at the Coast Guard Tri-Meet, winning the shot put and hammer throw, while finishing third in the discus. In the shot, he finished nearly a full meter better than his closest competitor, hitting a distance of 13.31 meters. He followed that up with a throw of 38.36 meters in the discus, before closing out the meet with his second medal of the day with his 49.35 meter throw in the hammer. The next day, Pierre shined again in the hammer throw, this time setting a new personal best with a distance of 52.98 meters, more than 12 feet farther than the day before, at the James Barber Invitational. Pierre would also finished third in the discus (38.98 meters) and fifth in the shot put (14.04 meters) to close out the events at the James Barber Invite.

Akeem King, The College of Saint Rose (Sr. - Brooklyn, N.Y.)
King won the 100m dash at the Sage-Saint Rose-Albany College of Pharmacy tri-meet on Sunday with a time of 11.04. The clocking ranks third in program annals, and second among NE10 student-athletes this spring.

Ja'Lil Reynolds, The College of Saint Rose (Fr. - Hopewell Junction, N.Y.)
Freshman Ja'Lil Reynolds was impressive in the jumps at Sunday's meet vs. Sage and Albany College of Pharmacy. The rookie won the high jump (1.89m) and triple jump (12.11m), and took second in the long jump (6.09m). He's currently less than an inch away from establishing a program record in the high jump event.

Connor Shannahan, Southern Conn. (Gr. - Enfield, Conn.)
In his first time competing since the 2019 East Region DII Cross Country Championships, Shannahan finished in first place in the 5k with a time of 14:37.46 at the James Barber Tri-Meet. Shannahan's time was also tied for the fifth best time in program history, and the best time by a Southern athlete since 1986. 

Michel-Ange Siaba, Stonehill (Sr - Palo Alto, Calif.)
Posted a first and second place finish in the jumps as the Skyhawks returned to action against Bentley on Sunday. He cleared 43-feet, 10-inches in the triple jump to win that event with the fifth-longest distance in the NE10 this spring. He also finished second in the long jump with a distance of 22-feet, 2-inches, good for fifth in the NE10 this spring.
