Le Moyne, SNHU Earn First Round Byes in NE10 Women’s Basketball Championship

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Southern New Hampshire and Le Moyne have claimed the top seeds in the Northeast and Southwest Divisions, respectively, as the Northeast-10 Conference unveiled its bracket for the 2022 NE10 Women's Basketball Championship.

The Championship will have six cross-divisional matchups in first round play on Friday. The quarterfinal round is scheduled for Sunday, while the semifinals will be on Thursday, March 3, and the final on Sunday, March 6. All NE10 teams automatically qualified for the Championship this season.

Southern New Hampshire, currently ranked No. 1 in the NCAA East Region rankings, is the top seed in the Northeast Division. The Penmen won the division with a 15-4 record in conference play, including six-straight wins to close the season. It is SNHU's first NE10 regular season title in program history and it receives the division's bye.

Bentley and Stonehill – two perennial powers in the Northeast Division – come in at No. 2 and 3, respectively, in the bracket. Saint Anselm is No. 4, Assumption is No. 5, Franklin Pierce is No. 6 and Saint Michael's is No. 7.

Le Moyne, ranked No. 5 in the NCAA East Region rankings, earned the top seed in the Southwest Division via tiebreak with Pace. The Dolphins finished with a 14-5 record in NE10 play under first-year head coach Mary Grimes. It is the second time in three seasons that Le Moyne has won at least a share of the NE10 Southwest Division title (2018-19) and it receives the division's bye.

Pace, ranked No. 2 in the NCAA East Region rankings, earned a share of the Southwest Division title following Tuesday night's win over Le Moyne. It is the first time in program history that the Setters earned an NE10 regular season championship, and it comes after a 14-5 record in conference play. Pace earns the No. 2 seed in the Southwest Division.

Adelphi is the No. 3 seed, Southern Connecticut is No. 4, American International is No. 5, Saint Rose is No. 6 and New Haven is No. 7.

Games for all rounds of the NE10 Women's Basketball Championship will be available on NE10 NOW, the Conference's digital streaming platform.
