Three More Women's Teams Advance to Monday.

MANSFIELD, Mass. - The Northeast-10 Conference Women's Basketball Championship continued on Saturday, with the biggest surprise of the day coming when the Northeast Division's No. 6 seed Franklin Pierce edged the Southwest Division's No. 3 seed Adelphi in first round play. The Ravens were one of three teams to punch their quarterfinal tickets for Monday.

The NE10 Women's Basketball Championship quarterfinals are scheduled for Monday. All games throughout the Championship will be streamed live and for free on NE10 NOW - the Conference's digital streaming platform.

No. 4 Southern Connecticut 65, No. 5 Assumption 58 (OT) - Box Score

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut defeated Assumption, 65-58, in the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship at Moore Field House. With the win, the Owls improved to 12-13 overall, while the Greyhounds finished their season 12-13.

Graduate student Jessica Fressle led all players with 24 points and 20 rebounds, and chipped in four assists. Senior Delaney Connors recorded 23 points on 69-percent shooting from the field, and chipped in four rebounds, and two assists. Senior Zoe Amalbert had 12 points on 50-percent shooting from the field and dished out 10 assists.

No. 4 Saint Anselm 61, No. 5 AIC 53 - Box Score

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior Peyton Steinman set a team record for point scoring on Saturday, helping the Saint Anselm women's basketball team to a Northeast-10 Conference First Round victory over American International College.

Saint Anselm, the No. 4 seed in the Northeast Division, moves to 15-12 on the year while American International, the No. 5 seed in the Southwest Division, ends its season at 10-16. The Hawks, who have won at least one NE10 postseason game in three consecutive seasons, head to Le Moyne, the No. 1 seed in the Southwest Division, on Monday, Feb. 28 for a 5:30 p.m. contest.

With 20 points against the Owls, Steinman has scored 1,769 points in a Saint Anselm uniform, passing Shannon Ryan '20 and her 1,767 points scored in three seasons from 2017-20. With just one point against the Dolphins on Monday, Steinman would capture the overall scoring record outright – Ryan scored two points at Boston College before transferring to Saint Anselm.

No. 6 Franklin Pierce (NE) 61, No. 3 Adelphi (SW) 58 - Box Score

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - After losing by one point to this same Adelphi team back on January 22, the Ravens got their revenge on the Panthers and held on to a 61-58 win in the Northeast-10 Conference First Round of the playoffs. Senior guard Rylee Skinner and sophomore forward Ines Gimenez Monserrat combined 32 points to lead Franklin Pierce into the second round of the Northeast-10 playoffs.

Franklin Pierce moves to 12-14 (NE10 4-6) with the win, and Adelphi falls to 12-12 (NE10 10-8).
