Bentley and Stonehill to Play in NE10 Women's Basketball Championship Final on Sunday

Eighth All-Time Championship Game Between Bentley and Stonehill.


MANSFIELD, Mass. - No. 2-seeded Bentley and No. 3-seeded Stonehill will meet in the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Basketball Championship final on Sunday, following semifinal victories on Thursday night. The game will take place as part of an "NE10 Championship Doubleheader" at the Dana Center, as the Bentley men's team also earned the right to host following the results of Thursday's semifinal contests. 

The Women's Basketball Championship final will begin at 12 p.m., with the Men's Basketball Championship final scheduled to start at 3 p.m. For the most updated spectator policy at Bentley University, click HERE. Admission will be $5 for fans and free for NE10 students with an ID. 

Bentley's Autumn Ceppi, a First Team All-Conference selection, had a 16-point, 14-rebound double-double to lead the Falcons past top-seeded Le Moyne on the road. For Stonehill, it was Kayla Raymond - another First Team All-Conference choice - that posted a game-high 18 points to help propel the Skyhawks to a win over No. 4-seed Southern Connecticut. 

It will be the eighth time that Bentley and Stonehill have played against each other in the NE10 final, with the Falcons holding a 5-2 record in the first seven meetings against the Skyhawks. 

The Championship final will be streamed live and for free on NE10 NOW - the Conference's digital platform. 


No. 2 Bentley (NE) 57, No. 1 Le Moyne (SW) 47 - Box Score

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Graduate forward Autumn Ceppi and senior guard Kari Brekke each put up 16 points, helping Bentley University to a 57-47 win over Le Moyne College in the semifinals of the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Basketball Championship Thursday night at Ted Grant Court.

With the win, the 18-8 Falcons reached the NE10 championship game for the 30th time. They'll host longtime rival Stonehill College, a 59-56 winner over Southern Connecticut State in the other semi, Sunday at noon with their sights on a record 21st NE10 title.

A one-possession game for virtually all of the first 35 minutes, Bentley finished strong, closing with a 12-4 run over the final 5:20. It was a block on a potential game-tying basket by Le Moyne senior forward Emma Brinker that ignited the Falcons.


No. 3 Stonehill (NE) 59, No. 4 Southern Connecticut (SW) 56 - Box Score

EASTON, Mass. – Northeast Division No. 3 seed Stonehill College, ranked No. 8 in this week's NCAA Division II East Regional rankings, will take its 2020 Northeast-10 Conference title defense all the way to the brink after rallying past Southwest Division No. 4 Southern Connecticut State University for a 59-56 win in semifinal round action of the 2022 NE10 Championship on Paula Sullivan Court at Merkert Gymnasium tonight.

Stonehill (16-8, 12-7 NE10), the defending NE10 Tournament Champions, advances to the NE10 Championship game for the 13th time in its program history where it will face Northeast Division No. 2 and rival Bentley University (18-8, 13-6 NE10), ranked No. 7 in the region, in Waltham on Sunday at noon. The Falcons advanced with a 57-47 victory at Southwest Division top-seed Le Moyne College (17-7, 14-5 NE10) in their semifinal in Syracuse. Southern Connecticut State, which notched an upset of Northeast Division top-seed Southern New Hampshire University in Monday's quarterfinal round, caps its season at 13-14, including 8-10-1 in the NE10. 

Stonehill's Kayla Raymond scored a game-high 18 points to go with nine rebounds in the victory. As a team, the Skyhawks held a decisive 42-31 rebounding advantage over the Owls on Thursday.
