Bentley, Pace and Stonehill Advance in NE10 Women's Basketball Championship

High Seeds Move On to Monday's Quarterfinals.


MANSFIELD, Mass. - The Northeast-10 Conference Women's Basketball Championship opened on Friday night, as the three high seeds - Bentley, Pace and Stonehill - earned victories in their first round matchups and have advanced to Monday's quarterfinals. 

First round play will conclude on Saturday, as three women's games were moved due to Friday's winter storm in the Northeast region. All games throughout the Championship will be streamed live and for free on NE10 NOW - the Conference's digital streaming platform. 


No. 3 Stonehill (NE) 65, No. 6 Saint Rose (SW) 55 - Box Score

EASTON, Mass. (February 25, 2022) – Northeast Division No. 3 seed Stonehill, ranked No. 8 in this week's NCAA Division II East Regional rankings, pulled away down the stretch to secure a 65-55 victory over Southwest No. 6 Saint Rose in first round action of the 2022 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Basketball Championship on Paula Sullivan Court at Merkert Gymnasium tonight.

Stonehill (14-8, 12-7 NE10), the defending NE10 Tournament Champions, advances to Monday's NE10 quarterfinal round, where it will face Southwest Division No. 2 Pace (20-6, 14-5 NE10) in Pleasantville, New York, at 5:30 p.m. The Setters reached the quarters with a 76-64 victory over Northeast No. 7 Saint Michael's in their first round matchup tonight. Saint Rose sees its season come to a close with a 6-17 record overall, including 5-13 in the NE10. 

Stonehill's senior forward Kayla Raymond scored a game-high 23 points in the win. 


No. 2 Bentley (NE) 75, No. 7 New Haven 48 - Box Score

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley women's basketball team took care of business Friday night, leading from the opening basket for a 75-48 win over New Haven in the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Friday night at the Dana Center.

Bentley, which limited the visiting Chargers to 17 first-half points, improved to 16-8 and advanced to Monday's home quarterfinal against the winner of Saturday's Franklin Pierce-Adelphi game.

The trio of senior guard Kari Brekke, graduate forward Autumn Ceppi and junior guard Ella Thompson led the charge as they combined for 44 points. Brekke buried four three-pointers on her way to 17 points, Ceppi followed with 15 and Thompson scored a dozen.


No. 2 Pace (SW) 76, No. 7 Saint Michael's (NE) 64 - Box Score

It was a common formula that led Pace, the No. 2 seed in the Southwest Division, to a 76-64 win over Saint Michael's, the No. 7 seed in the Northeast Division, on Friday night in the Goldstein Athletics Center - as standout Lauren Schetter netted 25 points in the victory. The Setters advance to Monday's quarterfinal round of the NE10 Women's Basketball Championship to play Stonehill - the No. 3 seed in the Northeast Division - at 5:30 p.m. 

Pace held a 32-15 scoring advantage off the bench over Saint Michael's, as well as a 15-2 advantage in points off turnovers. Katumina Mansaray chipped in 17 points for Pace in the winning effort.

Game 10: #3 NE Stonehill at #2 SW Pace - 5:30 PM
