FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bentley, SNHU with League-High Three All-Conference Selections.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Saint Anselm guard Peyton Steinman has been voted the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Year, as All-Conference honorees were released by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. Steinman becomes the second-straight Saint Anselm player to earn the award, following former teammate Shannon Ryan (2019-20).

Among major award winners, Steinman is joined by teammate Gabby Turco, the NE10 Rookie of the Year, as well as Adelphi's Emily Miccile as Defensive Player of the Year and Southern New Hampshire's Karen Pinkos as Coach of the Year.

Bentley and Southern New Hampshire both tallied a league-high three selections to the All-Conference teams – including First Team members in Bentley's Autumn Ceppi, and SNHU's Meg Knollmeyer and Gyanna Russell. Five different NE10 programs were represented on the First Team.

For a complete list of honorees, please see below. All-Conference teams are not based on position and are voted on by the league's head coaches.

Steinman becomes just the third Saint Anselm player to ever win NE10 Player of the Year, alongside Ryan and Rachel Jackson (1984-85). She led all players with 22.3 points per conference game this season, while ranking fifth in rebounds (8.0) and seventh in steals (1.9). Steinman also shot a league-best 44% from three-point range and 92.1% from the free throw line. Twice during the regular season, Steinman hit the 40-point mark – scoring 40 in a win over Stonehill (Dec.5) and netting 43 in a win over SNHU (Feb. 8). She was also chosen as a First Team honoree.

Miccile led the defensive effort for Adelphi all season long, leading her to NE10 Defensive Player of the Year honors. Miccile, a Third Team selection, had a league-high 2.1 blocks per conference game, while ranking third in steals with 2.3. The Panthers had a top-five defense in the NE10 during the regular season, allowing only 60.3 points per game to conference opponents behind Miccile. She becomes the first Adelphi player to ever earn Defensive Player of the Year status.

Turco had a rookie season for the ages – averaging 15.5 points per conference game, which ranks sixth among NE10 players – on her way to being named NE10 Rookie of the Year. She racked up 17 games this season overall with 15 or more points, on her way to being named NE10 Rookie of the Week on seven different occasions. Turco was also a Third Team and All-Rookie Team selection and is the first Saint Anselm player to win Rookie of the Year since Candace Andrews (2013-14).

Pinkos, now in her 17th season as head coach at Southern New Hampshire, earns NE10 Coach of the Year for the first time in her career after leading the Penmen to the Northeast Division regular season title and the top spot in the latest NCAA East Region rankings – as well as the No. 25 position in the most current WBCA poll. The Penmen went 15-4 in conference play and 21-6 overall, well exceeding preseason expectations which had SNHU finishing fourth in the NE10 Women's Basketball Coaches' Polls. SNHU's 15 conference wins is a program record since joining the NE10 in the 2000-01 season.

The NE10 Women's Basketball Championship semifinals are scheduled for Thursday night. Please visit Championship Central for the full bracket, schedule and team rosters. All games in the Championship can be viewed for free on NE10 NOW – the Conference's digital streaming platform.
