WORCESTER, Mass. – Assumption University Director of Athletics Christine Lowthert is pleased to announce Chip Warner as the next women's soccer head coach.

"We are excited to have Chip lead our women's soccer program," said Lowthert. "After serving as the assistant coach of the women's soccer team for over five years, Chip has been an outstanding leader and mentor.  I'm confident as the head coach, he will continue to build on the successes of the program both on and off the field."

Through his time at Assumption, Warner was a part of coaching one United Soccer Coaches Association All-American, seven New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association honors, one D2CCA Women's Soccer East Region Player of the Year, one Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year, 10 NE10 All-Conference players and three NE10 Academic All-Conference recipients.

"I would like to thank Director of Athletics Christine Lowthert and the leadership council for this opportunity to lead the Assumption University women's soccer program," said Warner. "I am honored and excited. I truly enjoy my time at Assumption, and I am eager to start working with this talented group of young ladies."

Warner has over 20 years of coaching experience at many different levels, including Catawba College, Cornell University and Colgate University. Warner also served as the Director of Soccer at Lake Norman Soccer Club in Mooresville, N.C. from 2006 to 2012.

Warner takes over the helm for Grace Barnard who served as the women's head soccer coach for four seasons. Barnard stepped down in July to pursue a coaching opportunity at William & Mary.
