Laurendeau Named National Scholar Player of the Year
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Saint Rose goalkeeper Marika Laurendeau has been honored as the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Women's National Scholar Player of the Year, to highlight four NE10 student-athletes who recently earned USC Scholar All-America recognition.
In addition to her major honor, Laurendeau was named to the Scholar All-America First Team along with teammate Ciera Lundy and Allyson Patterson of Southern New Hampshire. Nadine Hilkert of Southern Connecticut and Camryn Thompson of Stonehill both earned Third Team honors.
Laurendeau currently owns a 4.00 GPA as an MBA student and led the Golden Knights to the precipice of an NCAA Title as they dropped the NCAA Championship game in overtime by a 3-2 margin. She was also First-Team All-American after posting a 0.57 GAA with 11 shutouts this season.
Patterson concluded her decorated career by earning First-Team All-America and NE10 Player of the Year honors after leading SNHU to its first NE10 Regular Season Championship. Lundy helped lead the Golden Knights to the NE10 Championship and earned Third-Team All-America honors. Hilkert led her team back to the NE10 Championship game for the second straight season and started all 17 games while earning All-Conference Second Team recognition. Thompson was a First-Team All-Conference honoree after finishing second in the NE10 in both points (23) and goals (11).
