Women's Indoor Track & Field Major Awards Announced

Adelphi, AIC, SCSU & SNHU Earn Major Awards


MANSFIELD, Mass. - American International's Raven-Symone Jarrett repeated as the Field Athlete of the Year, while Adelphi, Franklin Pierce, Southern Connecticut and Southern New Hampshire all had an award winner as the Northeast-10 announced its Indoor Track & Field major award winners on Tuesday afternoon. 

Jarrett was honored as the Field Athlete of the Year for the second year in a row. Adelphi's Katherine Marsh claimed Track Athlete of the Year while SCSU's Anna-Sashia Jones earned Track Rookie of the Year and Franklin Pierce's Nouhayla Errahili earned Field Rookie of the Year recognition. Lex Butler and the Penmen Staff were named the NE10 Women's Coaching Staff of the Year. 

In her second NE10 Indoor Championship, Jarrett won the 60M hurdles and high jump, setting a new NE10 record with her 1.76m mark in the high jump. The sophomore also took second in the long jump to earn 29.5 total points en route to being named the Most Outstanding Track Athlete of the Meet. She will represent AIC at the NCAA Championships this weekend and compete in the high jump and pentathlon. 

Marsh, who wil compete in the 800M at the upcoming NCAA Championships, collected four medals at the NE10 Indoor Championship, including one individual and three relays. She finished the 800-meter race in 2:16.60 and ran a leg of the first-place 4x800 relay (9:38.22) and distance medley relay (12:16.96), and also ran a leg of the second-place 4x400 relay (3:50,59). 

Errahili, the Field Rookie of the Year, placed second in high jump, matching the previous NE10 record of 1.71m in her first NE10 Indoor Championship. She will compete in the high jump at the NCAA Championships. Jones, the Track Rookie of the Year, took home three medals at her first Championship. She ran a leg of the first-place 4x400 relay (3:50.07), took second in the 60M dash and third in the 200M dash. 

Lex Butler and the Southern New Hampshire coaching staff led the program to its first-ever NE10 Indoor Track & Field Title with 169 points to edge SCSU who had 153.
