SNHU Repeats as NE10 Champions


MANCHESTER, N.H. - SNHU Women's Track & Field repeated as Northeast-10 Outdoor Champs on Saturday at Mark A. Ouellette Stadium in Hooksett, N.H.  Graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) was named Women's Track Athlete of the Meet and Most Outstanding Performer.

TOP PERFORMANCES

  • Corcoran followed up her record run in the 1500m on Friday with wins in the 3000m Steeplechase (11:26.80) and 5000m (18:05.37).  She earned a total of 32 points with the three wins and running a leg of the second-place 4x800 relay.
  • Junior Emma Hallet (Billerica, Mass.) set a new PR, winning the Heptathlon.  She also contributed with a fourth-place finish in the high jump and a sixth-place run in the 100H.
  • Junior Kelsey Seamans (Methuen, Mass.) followed up her win in the 10000m Friday with a fourth-place finish in the 5000m in 18:33.57.
  • Junior Kaitlyn O'Rourke (Braintree, Mass.) ran second in the Steeplechase and fifth in the 1500m on Saturday.  She also was part of the 4x800 relay team.
  • Sophomore Tori Allen (Litchfield, N.H.) finished second in the Hep after coming in third in Friday's javelin competition.
  • Graduate student Tatyanna Beckford (Orange, N.J.) set new PR's in both the shotput (11.86m) and discus throw (34.86m).  She finished third in the shot, fourth in the javelin, and sixth in the discus.
  • Junior Laila Bunnitt (Lewiston, Maine) had a solid meet, finishing fourth in both the shot put and discuss and fifth in the hammer throw.
  • Graduate student Bennie Alula (Hartford, Conn.) set PRs in the discus and hammer throw.  She finished third in the hammer at 46.35m, and added points with a fifth-place finish in the shot put while eighth in the discus.
  • Junior Ava Gravell (Windham, N.H.) contributed 12.5 points with a fourth in the 400m, a fifth place finish in the 200m, both new PR's for her.  She also finished eighth in the 100m, 8th in the long jump, and was part of the fourth-place finish in the 4x1.
  • Junior Tori Limone (Stoneham, Mass.) had won the javelin at 35.70m (117'1") on Friday.

NOTES

  • The Penmen racked up 214 total points with Southern Connecticut State second at 156.5 and Adelphi third at 132.
  • Southern Connecticut won the men's competition with 268.5 points, ahead of Franklin Pierce (132), Assumption (113) and New Haven (108.5).
  • SNHU played host to the Outdoor Championships for the second time in four seasons. 
  • The Penmen won its first Outdoor title in 2022, and followed that up with a win in the 2022-23 Indoor Track & Field Championships. 
  • SNHU, under the leadership of Lex Butley and Rich Marcello, also won the Northeast-10 Women's Cross Country Championship and NCAA East Region Championship last fall.
