Men's Indoor Track & Field Report: Week 1

NE10 Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Nigel Green, Southern Connecticut
Senior | Shirley, N.Y.

Green picked up right where he left off in Southern's season-opening meet, as he set the all-time NCAA Division II record in the 300-meter dash with a time of 33.16 at the Sharon Coyear-Danville Season Opener. Green also finished in fifth place in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.96.


NE10 Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Gary Robinson Jr., Southern Connecticut
Sophomore | Montclair, N.J.

Robinson Jr. finished in first place in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 16.24 meters, and recorded a personal-best throw in the weight throw at 12.80 meters at the Art Kidish Elm City Challenge.


NE10 Men's Track Rookie of the Week

Callum Elson, American International
Freshman | Leeds, England

Elson ran brilliantly in the 5K in BU's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener. His 14:11.96 time was fifth-fastest nationally and tops in the NE10 for the event.


NE10 Men's Field Rookie of the Week

Ja'Lil Reynolds, Saint Rose
Freshman | Hopewell Junction, N.Y.

On Sunday, Reynolds took first place in the high jump for the Golden Knight men after clearing the 2.04-meter mark (6.7 feet), setting both the Art Kadish City Challenge meet record and Saint Rose program record with the result. 


NE10 Men's Relay of the Week

4x400 Relay, Adelphi

The Adelphi men's 4x400 relay squad of Kyle Cronin, Khalil Chester, John Perez and Amaury Ruud ran to a fifth place finish at the Fastrack Season opener, in a time of 3:23.81.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Yvan Lopes Ribeiro, American International College (So. - Springfield, Mass.)
Lopes Riberio had a strong showing at BU's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in the 60-meter hurdles. His time of 8.10 seconds in the prelims was sixth-fastest nationally and stands atop the NE10.

Joseph Santos, Assumption (Sr. - Warwick, R.I.)
Santos broke the school record in the 60 hurdles with a 8.25 time placing second in the event.

Connor Everidge, Franklin Pierce (Jr. - Baldwinville, Mass.)
Finished second in the weight throw (14.84m) and fourth in the shot put (15.00m) on Sunday in the season-opening Elm City Challenge at SCSU.

Wondu Summa, Franklin Pierce (So. - Burlington, Vt.)
Put together an impressive double in Sunday's season opener at SCSU, as he won the 3000 meters (8:59) and took second in the mile (4:48).

Kenny Barrett, Le Moyne (Sr. - Lagrangeville, N.Y.)
He won the 600-meter run in a meet-record and facility-record time of 1:25.05 at the Saints Holiday Relays. He also was part of a first-place relay team.

Jonathan Cineus, New Haven (Jr. - Stratford, Conn.)
Cineus posted a pair of top-three finishes to open up the indoor season with a second place leap in the triple jump and a third place finish in the long jump. In the triple, Cineus posted his top distance of the day on his final attempt, hitting a distance of 14.03 meters to finished second overall. He followed that up with a jump of 6.68 meters on his first attempt in the long jump which placed him third overall, less than three-tenths off of the overall leader.

Sean Theurer, Stonehill (Fr. - Burlington, Mass.)
In his collegiate debut, Theurer earned a victory in the 400-meter dash event with a time of 54.37 seconds at the Art Kadish Elm City Invitational.
