NE10 Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Clement Paillon, American International
Junior | Brussieu, France

Paillon dominated in the 800 at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. His time of 1:48.55 leaves him atop the national leaderboard in the event and is the seventh-fastest indoor 800 time in NCAA DII history.


NE10 Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Nate Llanos, Southern Connecticut
Sophomore | Danbury, Conn.

Llanos came in first place in the pole vault at the Giegengack Invitational with a personal-best mark of 4.80 meters, the best in the NE10 this season. Llanos has finished in the top three in all six of his meets competed in this season, with three first place finishes.


NE10 Men's Track Rookie of the Week

Callum Elson, American International
Freshman | Leeds, England

Callum Elson became the fourth NCAA Division II athlete and the first in NE10 history to run a sub-4:00 mile during an indoor event when he ran 3:59.71 at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday, February 12.


NE10 Men's Field Rookie of the Week

Cameron Belton, Southern Connecticut
Sophomore | Baltic, Conn.

Belton came in first place in the shot put at the Giegengack Invitational with a throw of 16.15 meters, the best shot put throw in the NE10 this season.


NE10 Men's Relay of the Week

Distance Medley Relay, Southern Connecticut

The team of Owen Gagne, Nigel Green, Jonathan Volpe, and Terrell Patterson set a new distance medley relay program record at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational with a time of 9:42.99. The time is also the 11th best all-time in Division II and second fastest in the NE10 this season. Southern finished in fourth place out of 14 competing teams, behind Army West Point, John Carroll, and Williams, while notably finishing ahead Division I programs Dartmouth and Syracuse. Southern's previous program record was set on Feb. 3, 2012.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Diego Llanos, Adelphi (Fr. - Fresh Meadows, N.Y.)
Diego Llanos ran his first 5000m race over the weekend at the David Hemery Valentine invite, posting a time of 15:08.38. Placing 40th overall, he sits seventh among NE10 competitors.

Anthony Spignese, Assumption (Jr. - Danvers, Mass.)
Spignese finished with a time of 21.56 in the 200 meters at the David Hemery Valentine invite over the weekend. It is an NCAA provisional qualifying mark and the third best in the NE10 this season.

Connor Everidge, Franklin Pierce (Jr. - Baldwinville, Mass.)
Finished second in the weight throw (16.06m) and fourth in the shot put (15.02m) on Saturday at MIT. Ranks first and fourth, respectively, in the NE10 in the two events, based on marks from earlier in the year.

Stephen Harris, Franklin Pierce (So. - Billerica, Mass.)
Won the 400 meters on Saturday at MIT, with a time of 49.77 seconds, which ranks sixth in the NE10. Also took sixth in the high jump, by clearing 1.90 meters. Ranks fourth in the NE10 in the high jump, based on a mark earlier this year.

Terrell Patterson, Southern Connecticut (Sr. - Waterbury, Conn.)
Patterson had an astounding week at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational for Southern. He and his DMR team broke the SCSU program record with a time of 9:42.99, also the 11th fastest of all-time in Division II. Patterson recorded a time of 4:01.19 in the 1600-meter leg of the relay. The next day, he recorded the second fastest mile time in program history at 4:04.47, second fastest among Division II athletes in the event and 41st out of 275 competing athletes. It was also the second fastest mile time in the NE10 this season and 12th fastest in all of Division II.
