NE10 Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Nyjah Young-Bey, Franklin Pierce
Junior | Montclair, N.J.

Young-Bey both the 55-meter dash (7.37) and the 200-meter dash (25.80) on Saturday at USM. She now ranks second in the NE10 in the 200 and has one of the top five times in the 60.


NE10 Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Paola Brena, Franklin Pierce
Senior | Queretaro, Mexico

Got up and over 1.67 meters to win the high jump on Saturday at USM and meet the NCAA Championships provisional mark in the event in the process. Currently leads the NE10 and is ranked 15th in the nation in the event.


NE10 Women's Track Rookie of the Week

Ella Maclean, Southern Connecticut 
Freshman | Hanover, N.H.

At the Yale Season Opener, Maclean finished in fourth place in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.86, the only freshman and Division II athlete in the event, and was part of the 4x400-meter relay that finished in fifth place with a time of 3:58.39, the fastest time for a Southern 4x400-meter relay team since Feb. 20, 2020. The 4x400-meter relay time is also the best among all NE10 4x400-meter relay teams this season, and fourth best among all Division II 4x400-meter relay teams this season.


NE10 Women's Field Rookie of the Week

Laila Bunnitt, Southern New Hampshire
Sophomore | Lewiston, Maine

SNHU sophomore Laila Bunnitt returned to her home state and set a PR in the shot put at 12.16m, winning the event at the Southern Maine indoor meet. Bunnitt also placed sixth in the weight throw.


NE10 Women's Relay of the Week

4x400 Relay, Southern Connecticut

At the Yale Season Opener, the 4x400-meter relay team of Rachel Dube, Ella Maclean, Dardielle Exantus, and Izzy Newbury finished in fifth place with a time of 3:58.39, the fastest time for a Southern 4x400-meter relay team since Feb. 20, 2020. The 4x400-meter relay time is also the best among all NE10 4x400-meter relay teams this season.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Kristen Washington, New Haven (Sr. - New Haven, Conn.)
Washington finished top-three in a pair of events at the Yale Season Opener on Saturday afternoon. The senior jumper opened up her day taking medalist honors in the long jump with her first of six attempts on the day leaping 5.61 meters which held out for the title. Later in the day, she finished third overall in the triple jump with her leap of 10.85 meters which came on her fourth attempt.

Jaelyn Howard, Saint Rose (So. - Syracuse, N.Y.)
Howard won key points for the Golden Knights in multiple events at the Utica Holiday Classic on Saturday, taking first place in the long jump (5.27 meters) alongside a fifth place finish in the 600m dash (1:47:00). She also helped the 4x200 relay team finish third in 1:57.07.

Bennie Alula, SNHU (Sr. - Hartford, Conn.)
Senior Bennie Alula (Hartford, Conn.) established a new SNHU program record, winning the weight throw on Saturday in an indoor meet at the University of Southern Maine. Alula won the weight throw with her second attempt, which measured 15.46m (50' 8.75"). She broke her own program mark of 15.42 set in January of 2020. Bennie also set a PR in the shot put at 11.61m, finishing in third place.

Meghan Stroh, SNHU (Sr. - New Fairfield, Conn.)
Senior Meghan Stroh (New Fairfield, Conn.) won the 600m in 1:46.90 for SNHU at the indoor meet at Southern Maine Saturday. She also was a member of the Penmen's 4x200 team which won at the meet.
