NE10 Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Ashley Corcoran, Southern New Hampshire
Graduate Student | East Longmeadow, Mass.

Graduate student Ashley Corcoran again set a new SNHU program record, this time at Friday's David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston.  Against top competition, Corcoran finished up the 3000m race in 9:37.55, more than seven seconds faster than she ran the distance two years ago in Boston. The time is also the 14th fastest in all of Division II this year.


NE10 Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Adia Cavalier, American International
Senior | Bloomfield, Conn.

Cavalier flew into the top spot in the NE10 in the triple jump, posting an NCAA qualifier mark of 12.10 meters. She is currently .36 meters ahead of the nearest mark to her in the conference.


NE10 Women's Track Rookie of the Week

Ella Maclean, Southern Connecticut
Freshman | Hanover, N.H.

At the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, Maclean finished in 14th place overall out of 26 in the 60-meter dash invite with a time of 7.91 and in 28th place out of 228 in the 200-meter dash with a personal-best time of 25.22, fifth fastest by a freshman in the event. It was also the second best in the NE10 this season and best by a freshman. Maclean was also part of the Owls' 4x400-meter relay team finished in 14th place out of 45 with a time of 3:54.73, the fastest 4x400-meter relay time for Southern since Feb. 25, 2018.


NE10 Women's Field Rookie of the Week

Tyra Felton, Franklin Pierce
Sophomore | Sterling, Mass.

Took sixth in the shot put on Saturday at MIT, with a throw of 11.37 meters, and ninth in the weight throw, with a heave of 13.29 meters, which now ranks sixth in the NE10. Ranks fourth in the NE10 in the shot put, based off a mark earlier in the season.


NE10 Women's Relay of the Week

4x400 Relay, Southern Connecticut

The 4x400-meter relay team of Rachel Dube, Izzy Newbury, Dardielle Exantus, and Ella Maclean finished in 14th place out of 45 with a time of 3:54.73, the fastest 4x400-meter relay time for Southern since Feb. 25, 2018, fastest in the NE10 this season, and 16th fastest in all of Division II.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Gabrielle Griffin, Adelphi (Sr. - Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.)
Gabrielle Buissereth ran the fastest time in the NE10 this indoor season in the 400, clocking in at 56.82 at the David Hemery Valentine Invite over the weekend. Her time was good enough for a 25th overall finish and is an IC4A/ECAC qualifying mark. She was also part of the 4x400 relay that placed 22nd in a time of 3:58.65, which was just shy of SCSU relay team.

Peri Snow, Assumption (Jr. - East Bridgewater, Mass.)
Snow posted a school-record time of 2:15.28 in the 800 at the David Hemery Valentine Invite over the weekend. The time is also the best in the NE10 this season.

Chase Davies, Bentley (Sr. - Marblehead, Mass.)
For the third time in the last four meets, Davies broke a school record in the hurdles. The latest came Saturday in the Maine Saturday Invitational when she ran a 9.07 in the 60 hurdles preliminaries, bettering her own record by 0.12 seconds and moving to fifth on the NE10 performance list. She took first in the finals with a 9.25. She also was fifth in both the high jump (4'9.5") and the long jump (15'8.75") with both distances new PRs. On Bentley's all-time lists, she moved to 11th in the long jump and 13th in the high jump.

Paola Brena, Franklin Pierce (Sr. - Queretaro, Mexico)
Finished third in the high jump on Saturday at MIT, by clearing 1.58 meters. Leads the NE10 in the event, based off a mark earlier in the season.

Nyjah Young-Bey, Franklin Pierce (Jr. - Montclair, N.J.)
Won the 200-meter dash at MIT on Saturday, with a run of 25.51 seconds, which leads the NE10. Also took second in the 60-meter dash, with a time of 7.88 seconds. Is fourth in the NE10 in the 60-meter event, based off a run earlier in the year.

Maria DeSouza, Southern Connecticut (Jr. - Danbury, Conn.)
DeSouza finished in sixth place out of 28 in the pole vault with a personal-best mark of 3.45 meters at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, the best in the NE10 this season by 0.15 meters. 

Izzy Newbury, Southern Connecticut (So. - Moosup, N.Y.)
At the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, Newbury finished in 13th out of 39 in the 60-meter open hurdles with a time of 9.52, and finished in 74th out of 194 in the 400-meter run with a personal-best time of 59.17. Newbury was also part of the Owls' 4x400-meter relay team finished in 14th place out of 45 with a time of 3:54.73, the fastest 4x400-meter relay time for Southern since Feb. 25, 2018.
