Week 4 - April 19, 2022

NE10 Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Ashley Corcoran, Southern N.H.
Graduate Student | Distance | East Longmeadow, Mass.

At the UConn Northeast Challenge on April 15, Corcoran won the 3000m Steeplechase in a personal/program record 10:23.96. Her time is third best in the nation and just four seconds out of second.


NE10 Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Raven-Symone Jarrett, American International
Sophomore | Multi's | New Britain, Conn.

Jarrett was among the top heptathletes at the UConn Northeast Challenge, and scored an NCAA-qualifying 4684 points in the event. Her 100-meter hurdle time of 14.27 is second only to teammate Roxan Foster in the NE10, her high jump of 1.62 meters is third, and her 5.28 meter long jump sits sixth in the NE10, meaning she potentially would be worth 27 points at the conference championship.


NE10 Women's Track Rookie of the Week

Mercyline Kimaiyo, American International
Freshman | Distance | Eldoret, Kenya

Kimaiyo won the UConn Northeast Challenge's 10000-meter run in 36:30.59, giving the conference its first national qualifying time in the event this season. Her time is 1:28 faster than the next-closest in the event.


NE10 Women's Field Rookie of the Week

Madison Gunderway, Stonehill
Freshman | Throws | Cranston, R.I.

Gunderway continued her strong outdoor season by setting a new personal best in the hammer throw with a toss of 42.53 meters for third place. Each time she has competed in this event, Gunderway has always finished within the top three.


NE10 Women's Relay of the Week

4x100 Relay, American International

The AIC 4x100 relay quartet of Roxan Foster, Monique Malcolm, Adia Cavalier and Haja Donzo just keeps getting faster, lowering the top time in AIC history and in the NE10 this year to just 47.05 seconds at the UConn Northeast Challenge.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Amari Johnson, Adelphi (Fr. - Charlotte, N.C.)
Amari Johnson ran the third fastest time in the NE10 this season in the 100 hurdles event, crossing the tape in 14.45 seconds to place fourth overall at the Bison Outdoor Classic. Additionally she ran a 12.91 in the 100 m dash, which ranks 15th against league competition. Both times were new career-bests for the rookie.

Roxan Foster, American International (So. - St. Elizabeth, Jamaica)
Foster had a fantastic weekend for the Yellow Jackets at the UConn Northeast Challenge. Her 13.87 second time in the 100-meter hurdles placed her 8th nationally, and she was also part of AIC's 4x100-meter relay unit that now holds the top time in the conference by over a full second.

Olivia Johnson, Assumption (So. - Stratford, Conn.)
Olivia Johnson won the long jump by leaping 18-feet, 0.50-inches and placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 36-0.25 at the Merrimack Alumni Classic. She also ran a collegiate-best time of 17.47 seconds in the 100 hurdles.

Victoria Steffon, Assumption (Sr. - Holden, Mass.)
Victoria Steffon factored into a pair of event wins and placed among the top three in a third event at the Merrimack Alumni Classic this past Thursday. She most notably won the 100-meter dash in 12.52 seconds and anchored the winning 4x100-meter relay which navigated the track in 49.60. In addition, she placed third in the 200-meter dash in 26.30 seconds.

Chase Davies, Bentley (Sr. - Marblehead, Mass.)
Davies broke the school record in the 100 meter hurdles for the second straight Saturday while competing in the Southern New Hampshire Penmen Relays. She finished first in the race and improved on her previous record by 0.19 seconds with a 14.81. She also placed sixth in the high jump (1.45m, 4'9") and threw the shot 8.15m (26'9").

Nyjah Young-Bey, Franklin Pierce (Jr. - Montclair, N.J.)
Won both the 100-meter (12.35) and 200-meter (25.08) dashes on Saturday at SNHU. The 200-meter time leads the NE10, while the 100-meter time ranks third.

Stephanie Green, Saint Rose (So, - Kingston, N.Y.)
Green posted a strong performance in the field on Saturday at Southern New Hampshire. She measured career-bests while taking second place in both the discus (32.30 meters) and hammer throw (49.36 meters).

Laila Bunnitt, SNHU (So. - Lewiston, Maine)
Laila Bunnitt won the discus at Saturday's Penmen Relays with a new PR of 39.89m (2nd best in East Region this season). Bunnitt not only had a PR in the discus, but also the hammer throw (42.53m).

4x400 Relay, Southern Conn.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Rachel Dube, Ella Maclean, Dardielle Exantus, Isabella Newbury finished in second place at the UConn Northeast Challenge with a time of 3:51.76. The time trailed Division I Stony Brook at the meet by less than a .20 of a second, and was the fastest by a Southern women's 4x400-meter relay team since May 13, 2017. The time is also the fastest in the NE10 this year, and fastest during the outdoor season by nearly four seconds, and fastest in the NE10 since Feb. 28, 2020.

Kaytlin Encarnacao, Stonehill (So. - Reading, Mass.)
In the 400-meter, Stonehill took three spots within the top-10 led by Encarnacao's first-place finish at 58.14 seconds. Her time marked a new personal record and is within the top five fastest in the Northeast-10 Conference (fourth). She also led the 4x400 relay team in what would be their season-best time of 4:05.31.

Krista Stracqualursi, Stonehill College (Sr. - Tewksbury, Mass.)
Stracqualursi grabbed third-place finishes in both throwing events she competed in. In the shot put, she had a toss of 11.73 meters, and then in the discus, a season-high throw of 36.96 meters.
