NE10 Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Nyjah Young-Bey, Franklin Pierce
Junior | Montclair, N.J.

Won the 400 meters on Saturday at SCSU with a run of 58.18 seconds. Now leads the NE10 in the event. She also took second in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.36 seconds.


NE10 Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Paola Brena, Franklin Pierce
Senior | Tewksbury, Mass.

Got up and over 1.70 meters to win the high jump on Saturday at SCSU and meet the NCAA Championships provisional qualifying standard again in the process. Also took second in the triple jump (11.02m). Leads the NE10 and is now 11th in the nation in the high jump. Ranks fourth in the NE10 in the triple jump.


NE10 Women's Track Rookie of the Week

Amari Johnson, Adelphi
Freshman | New Hyde Park N.Y.

Amari Johnson returned to the 60m hurdles this week, shaving off .12 seconds off her previous best time in her preliminary heat (9.02) and then ran a 9.07 in the finals to earn a first place finish. Her time after the weekend of events ranks third amongst NE10 competition.


NE10 Women's Field Rookie of the Week

Madison Kozyra, Le Moyne
R-Freshman | Marcy, N.Y.

She registered a program-record distance of 44-feet, 0-inches (fourth-best in the NE10 this year) on her third attempt to place second in the weight throw at Houghton's Highlander Invitational on Saturday. She won the shot put with a mark of 36-feet, 11.75-inches on her fifth throw.


NE10 Women's Relay of the Week

4x400 Relay, Adelphi

Adelphi's 4x400 Relay took third at the Ramapo Opener hosted at the Armory. The quartet of Nikki Searles, Isabel Marsh, Lauren Toland and Beatriz Chavarria finished in 4:19.95 for the best time among non-Division I programs.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Haley Wheeler, American International (Gr., Distance - Oxford, Connecticut)
Wheeler was given a significant challenge at Springfield College's Massasoit Invitational: a double in the 800 and the 1000. She handled both, winning the events with significant gaps between her and her competition to score 20 points for AIC.

Chase Davies, Bentley (Sr., - Marblehead, Mass.)
During the William Sutherland Invitational at Southern Connecticut, Davies finished first in the 55 meter hurdles, twice breaking a school record that had stood since 1990 in the process. She ran 8.67 seconds in the prelims and posted an 8.63 in the finals. In addition, the 2021 NE10 outdoor heptathlon champion was 10th of 18 in the long jump (4.57m) and 13th of 27 (9.07m) in the shot put. Her hurdles times ranks seventh on the NE10 performance list.

Mallory DiFelice, Le Moyne (R-Jr. - Webster, N.Y.)
She recorded a pair of individual top-six finishes, including a program record, and teamed on a relay victory on Saturday at Houghton's Highlander Invitational. She opened the day by breaking her own program record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.07 seconds to record the top time in the preliminaries. She then sped to another new program record in the event by crossing the finish line in the finals in 8.04 seconds (ninth in the NE10 this year) to place second. In the 200-meter dash, she placed sixth in a career-best 27.64 seconds. She anchored the first-place 4x400-meter relay, which finished in 4:26.78.

Kristen Washington, New Haven (Sr, - New Haven, Conn.)
Washington competed in a pair of events, one each at back-to-back meets last week ... She opened up the weekend with a third place finish in the triple jump at the Ramapo Season Opener with a distance of 10.90 meters which came on her fourth of six attempts ... She followed that up competing in the long jump at the William Sutherland Invitational where her distance of 5.47 meters, which came on her first attempt of the day, came in second overall.

Lauren Reed, Saint Rose (Sophomore, - Johnsonville, NY)
In Saturday's William Sutherland III Invitational at Southern Connecticut State, Reed launched to third place finishes in both the long jump and the triple jump with respective measurements of 5.03m and 10.79m.

Bennie Alula, SNHU (Sr. - Hartford, Conn.)
Bennie Alula had a solid meet at Southern Connecticut State on Saturday, finishing second in the weight throw (14.59m) and fifth in the shot put (10.64m). The Penmen won the William Sutherland III Invitational in New Haven.

Ashley Corcoran, SNHU (Gr. - East Longmeadow, Mass.)
The Penmen returned to action Saturday, winning the William Sutherland III Invitational. Ashley Corcoran won the mile race for the Penmen in 5:04.52, the fastest race turned in by an NE10 runner this season.

Rachel Fleischer, Southern Connecticut  (Sr. - Derby, Conn.)
Fleischer finished in first place in the triple jump with a leap of 11.56 meters at the William Sutherland III Invitational. Her mark is currently the best in the NE10 this season and was the 11th best in all of Division II last week.

Kaytlin Encarnacao, Stonehill (So. - Reading, Mass.)
Encarnaco recorded a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter race with a time of 1:00.69. In each time she competed in the 400 meter this season, Encarnaco has recorded a top-10 finish each time. She also competed in the 200-meter race and posted a 14th place finish. In the 200 meters, she posted a time of 27.11 which is a new personal best topping her previous high of 27.46 set back in April.

Krista Stracqualursi, Stonehill (Sr. - Tewksbury, Mass.)
Stracqualursi competed in the shot put again and had a toss of 11.82 meters. Her throw in Saturday's event was good for a sixth-place which extended her streak of finishing within the top-15 each time she has thrown in the shot put.
