Yellow Jackets Predicted to Claim First NE10 Title
MANSFIELD, Mass. – American International was picked to claim its first-ever NE10 Indoor Track & Field Title in the 2022 NE10 Women's Indoor Track & Field Coaches' Poll, released on Wednesday.
The Yellow Jackets finished the poll with 98 points and eight first place votes, while second place Southern New Hampshire had 86 points and the remaining three first-place votes. AIC has never won an Indoor Championship and has finished second just once, back in 2013. The Penmen's top finish in the Indoor Championship was fourth back in 2020.
The 2022 NE10 Championships take place Feb. 24-25 in the Reggie Lewis Center, located at Roxbury Community College. Spectators will be allowed to attend the event, though every spectator must remain masked while inside the venue.
Stonehill, the seven-time reigning NE10 Champion, was tied for third in the poll with 75 points. Southern Connecticut also had 75 points. Franklin Pierce was selected fifth with 66 points while Adelphi and New Haven tied for sixth with 54 points apiece.
