The Weekend Preview: Jan. 28-30
Every Friday, the NE10 is going to highlight the biggest contests each weekend. It may be a big-time rivalry, matchup between two ranked teams or a battle for playoff-positioning. Fans can follow the action for every game by visiting our schedule page.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Bentley at Adelphi: Saturday, Jan. 29 – 3:30 p.m.­ (Live StatsVideo)

No. 19 Bentley looks to protect its eight-game winning streak when it visits Adelphi on Saturday afternoon in NE10 action. It will be a battle of first-place teams when the Falcons (14-2, 9-2 NE10) play the Panthers (13-6, 8-4 NE10), who are currently riding their own three-game winning streak.

Adelphi's Ronnie Silva ranks second among NE10 players this season in scoring with 20.4 points per game, while Bentley boasts the top-scoring offense in the league with 84.9 points per contest. The Falcons are led by Mason Webb and his 15.7 points per game.

Saint Rose at Stonehill: Saturday, Jan. 29 – 3:30 p.m.­ (Live StatsVideo)

Coming off a big win over reigning NE10 champion Saint Anselm, Saint Rose looks to continue building momentum when it travels to play Stonehill on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Knights (7-7, 4-5 NE10), currently tied for fourth place in the Southwest Division, will look to snap Stonehill's (11-7, 7-5 NE10) two-game winning streak.

Andrew Sims and Owen Chose lead Stonehill in scoring with 15.4 and 15.0 points per game, respectively, while the Skyhawks rank second among NE10 programs in scoring defense – allowing only 67.7 points per game. Saint Rose is led by Shane O'Dell, who ranks fifth in the NE10 with 19.8 points per game.


WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Assumption at Le Moyne: Saturday, Jan. 29 – 1:00 p.m.­ (Live StatsVideo)

Le Moyne, who sits in first place of the Southwest Division, will host Assumption on Saturday afternoon at Ted Grant Court. The Dolphins (10-3, 8-2 NE10) have won seven of their last eight games in NE10 play and six out of seven overall. They look to keep gaining momentum when the Greyhounds (8-8, 5-6 NE10) visit, who are riding a three-game winning streak of their own.

Le Moyne's Emma Brinker is averaging a double-double this season with 16.4 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. It will be a battle of defense, as Le Moyne ranks third in the NE10 – allowing just 57.8 points per game – while Assumption ranks fourth – surrendering 58.5 points per contest.

SNHU at Pace: Saturday, Jan. 29 – 1:30 p.m. (Live StatsVideo)

SNHU, which is receiving votes in the latest WBCA national rankings, currently sits in first place in the Northeast Division and will get a tough road test when it visits Pace on Saturday afternoon. The Penmen (12-3, 6-2 NE10) are coming off an overtime loss at home to Adelphi, while the Setters (14-4, 8-3 NE10) look to snap a two-game losing skid.

SNHU's Meg Knollmeyer, the NE10's reigning Player of the Week, has recorded a league-high 12.6 rebounds per game this season. Pace's Lauren Schetter ranks second among all NE10 players in scoring with 20.2 points per game.


ICE HOCKEY

Two of the top three teams in the NE10 ice hockey standings will meet twice this weekend when Assumption visits Post at The Sports Center of Connecticut. Assumption (7-7-1, 4-3 NE10) has won three-straight games against NE10 opponents, while Post (6-10, 4-5 NE10) looks to bounce back after losing three of its last four to Saint Anselm and Saint Michael's.

Assumption's Devan Sheth has a team-high 16 points (10 goals, six assists) this season – as part of the Greyhounds' offense that ranks second in the NE10 - while Post's Brandon Brown continues to lead all NE10 goaltenders with 431 saves.
