MEN'S BASKETBALL
Le Moyne at New Haven: Feb. 5 – 3:30 p.m. (Live Stats – Video)
Despite both teams coming off losses, it will be a battle of perennial contenders in the Southwest Division when Le Moyne visits New Haven on Saturday afternoon. The Dolphins (9-10, 5-7 NE10) will look to snap a two-game skid, while the Chargers (11-7, 7-6 NE10) will try to bounce back after a double-digit loss to Pace on Wednesday.
Saturday will feature two defensive-minded teams, as New Haven's defense is ranked first among NE10 programs by allowing only 64.1 points per game this season – led by Majur Majak and his league-high 2.9 blocks per contest. Le Moyne is strong on the defensive side, as well, leading the NE10 in both steals (8.8) and blocks (5.5) per game.
Pace at Saint Rose: Feb. 5 – 3:30 p.m. (Live Stats – Video)
Saint Rose, one of the hottest teams in the NE10, will host Pace in a critical Southwest Division matchup on Saturday in Albany. Both teams rank in the top three of the Southwest Division, as they look to make a late-season push for a regular season title. The Golden Knights (10-7, 7-5 NE10) have won four-straight games, while the Setters (13-8, 9-5 NE10) are coming off back-to-back wins against Le Moyne and New Haven.
Shane O'Dell leads Saint Rose in scoring and ranks fourth among all NE10 players with 19.8 points per game. Pace will look to shut down the Golden Knights' offense with a defense that ranks first in the league in opposing field goal percentage (40.4) against conference opponents.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Saint Anselm at Stonehill: Feb. 5 – 1:30 p.m. (Live Stats – Video)
In a rematch of the 2020 NE10 Women's Basketball Championship, Saint Anselm visits Stonehill on Saturday afternoon in a Northeast Division showdown. Stonehill (7-6, 6-5 NE10) is riding a two-game winning streak – most recently beating first-place Bentley in overtime on Thursday night at the Dana Center. Saint Anselm (10-8, 6-5 NE10) is coming off a loss to Assumption on Wednesday night.
The Hawks are led by Peyton Steinman, who ranks second among all NE10 players in scoring with 19.8 points per game. The Skyhawks, as a team, rank fifth in the league in offense with 66.3 points per contest and are led by Kayla Raymond and her 17.6 points per game.
SNHU at Assumption: Feb. 5 – 1:30 p.m. (Live Stats – Video)
Southern New Hampshire, which is receiving votes in the latest WBCA national rankings, will travel to play Assumption on Saturday afternoon in a Northeast Division matchup. The Penmen (14-4, 8-3 NE10) look to gain ground on first-place Bentley, while the Greyhounds (9-9, 6-7 NE10) enter the weekend with momentum after having won four of their last five contests.
The Penmen have the highest-scoring offense in the NE10 this season, which is averaging 72.8 points per game and is led by Gyanna Russell's 14.3 points per contest. Assumption will look to contain that offense, as the Greyhounds rank first in the league in opposing three-point percentage (21.9) and second in opposing field goal percentage (36.1) against NE10 teams.
ICE HOCKEY
Saint Anselm at Assumption: Feb. 4 – 6:50 p.m. (Live Stats – Video)
Assumption at Saint Anselm: Feb. 5 – 4:00 p.m. (Live Stats – Video)
Two of the top teams in the NE10 standings will clash this weekend, as Assumption and Saint Anselm meet on the ice in a home-and-home series. Assumption (9-8-1, 6-3 NE10), currently sitting in second place in the NE10, has won its last five games against Conference opponents. Saint Anselm (8-9-2, 5-4-2 NE10), which is third in the standings, is 4-0-1 in its last five games in league play.
Assumption will host on Friday night and is second among NE10 programs in goals per game (3.61) this season, led by Robert Holyoke and his 21 points. Saint Anselm, Saturday's host, has one of the stingiest defenses in the league – allowing only a 3.33 goals against average. Saint Anselm goaltender Nick Howard ranks second in the league with a 2.93 goals against average.
