MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference announced on Tuesday its list of 28 student-athletes that have been nominated for its prestigious 2021-22 Male and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards.
Eligibility requirements for nomination are that a student-athlete must be in their final year of athletic eligibility, graduating with a degree in May (unless in a master's program), must be enrolled in a full-time course load and must have a minimum final cumulative grade point average of 3.30. A committee made up of faculty members and athletic administrators conducts voting for the awards.
Winners will be announced the night of Thursday, June 9, as part of a pre-recorded live awards show on the NE10's YouTube page.
ALL-TIME WINNERS OF MALE & FEMALE SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Both awards have 14 nominees, as each member institution has selected one male and one female student-athlete to represent its school. The 2021-22 academic year marks the 23rd year that the NE10 will recognize Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year, as the awards date back to 1999-2000.
Men's soccer led all sports with four nominees, while football and women's soccer were tied for second with four. Four other sports have two nominees under consideration.
